Cut-to-Width Snow Drift 9/16 in. Top-Down Bottom-Up Cordless Light Filtering Cellular Shade - 32.5 in. W x 72 in. L is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks Good This does what i want in a bathroom to allow light in during the day and provide privacy for the occupants at night. Installation is reasonably easy except getting the shade assembly to fit into the bracket at the top of the trim in an inside the trim installation. It took a number of attempts to have the bar across the top snap into the metal brackets that hold it. I think I was able to do it engaging the front part of the bracket first and then move the rear of the bar into the rear part of the bracket. I think that I pulled the bar back toward me as well as pushing the bar up to get it to engage the rear portion of the bracket. Once the shade is in the bracket, it stays there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I wanted. Out of the box, the directions took a minute to translate, but then installation only took about 2 minutes. Wife likes the look, it was what she expected. Zip, zop, Done. Hey, look at that. Time for a beverage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice blinds I wanted a window treatment for a remodeled second-floor bathroom that would provide privacy and also let in light. This blind is perfect in that you can drop the top part down or lift up the bottom, or both. I can leave the top part down to let in the sun while also pulling down the bottom for privacy. The material seems very sturdy and doesn't crinkle up like some other blinds I have got. It was very easy to install. I installed this blind on the inside, but it can also be installed on the outside frame of the window. It is very easy to take down as well. At first, it was a bit difficult to expand, but loosened up with a couple of uses. I didn't have to have mine trimmed but I understand that if you have a weird measurement of window, The Home Depot will trim the blind for free.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice, but heed this installation note The mounting brackets are just cheap metal clips, and if you install them wrong you can't attach the blinds. Specifically, if you mount them on the vertical frame, you MUST leave at least one inch of head space above the clip, because attaching the blinds requires you to flex the clip upwards in order to snap it onto the blind. I didn't realize this, so I had a heck of a time installing. ended up removing clips, moving them down, and then it worked (but now I have extra holes in my window frame). ALSO, if you get it cut, make sure you CUT FROM BOTH ENDS. (I.e., a 2" trim should be trimmed one inch on each side). Otherwise the inner strings -- which you see if you go "top down" -- won't be centered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great so far I should probably wait a few months to review these, but then I'll forget. My initial observations: * Much more expensive than the Home Decorators Collections blinds that are not top-down, but much cheaper than any other option I could find that offered cordless top-down. * Only available in two white colors, at least at the time I purchased from Home Depot. * Easy install. I had the brackets mis-aligned slightly, and had to fix them to be parallel to each other and the window frame, before I could pop the shade in. Of course, this is obvious, but I point it out if this info helps anyone with their installation. * They look fine, and offer privacy while giving me a view of the sky. * I'm mixing these with the shades that don't offer the top-down feature, to save money in those windows where the view doesn't matter. Fortunately, both versions have identical-looking "Snow Drift" color. Oddly, the brackets and end caps are quite different, and are actually a tiny bit nicer on the cheaper blinds. Once mounted it didn't seem to make a difference in function or appearance, though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be worse, could be better The Good: 1.) Handle on "top-down" function differentiates that function from the "bottom-up" function, no confusion about which horizontal bar to pull or push. 2.) Light filtering provides enough privacy for a bathroom, yet does not block all the light. 3.) Cut-to-width capability in the store. 4.) Cellular design offers insulating capability. 5.) No pull strings. The Bad: 1.) The three main horizontal bars which enclose the functional mechanisms (one bar mounts to the metal clips to hang the whole assembly, one bar each for "top-down" and bottom-up" functions") all seem to be taller and deeper than need be (I'm a Mechanical Engineer), occupying more window real estate in the full-open position than necessary. 2.) The mounting clips provide both face and top mounting holes. I had to use the face mounting holes because my window trim projected only 3/4" from the face against which I wanted to mount the clips, not enough to reach the mount-from-top mounting holes. However, when face mounted, the mounting clips (two on a 24" wide shade") deflect significantly under the load pulling the shade down. I don't think they will break, but they have a very cheap feel. 3.) Despite the thin gauge of the mounting clips, it was still difficult to "pop" the shade mounting bar into the clips. I had to force it hard enough to fear breaking something, but fortunately did not. I'd buy this shade again only after exhausting other "top-down-bottom-up" shade options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for DIY home improvement Very nice shades that brighten my entire living room. I replaced all old blinds on 5 windows. White made entire room brighter and cleaner. Pretty easy to install, directions were ok but could be a little larger to read. Great makeover product to DIY.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Top down/Bottom up Blind Contrary to some of the other posted comments, I found this blind very easy to install and operate. There is a small imperfection in how the fabric is attached at the top frame, but unless you are installing the blind, you would not notice. Top down/bottom up feature works great. I found the top down/bottom up blinds to be on the expensive side, and I searched every website I could find, but really wanted this type of blind for privacy for a bathroom and this one was the most reasonably priced that I could find. Works great.
