How do I remove slats in order to shorten the blind?

Answer: 
Detailed instructions come with the blind.
Basically
1. With blind fully lowered, pop cord plugs from bottom bar
2. Remove plugs by cutting cord knots
3. Set bar aside
4. Remove desired number of slats
5. Replace bottom bar
6. Cut off slat "ladders" leaving ~2" extra length.
6. Thread cords through holes & re-knot with plugs.
7. Re-insert plugs in bottom bar stuffing extra ladder ends into holes.

The instructions you need are included with the blind. If you no longer have them, suggest you stop in at Home Depot for help.

Remove plugs at bottom of blind, remove knot holding cord in place. Now slide out as many slats as you need to to get correct length, now remove one more. Now slide the bottom of blind back into position taking care to position the cord at the proper location to drop thru the bottom of the blind. Knot and reinstall the plug catching the pieces of the ladder material in the plug cut off extra material Read More

first you must open the blinds so that you can see out. extend the blinds all the way to its furthest length. under the very bottom of the base board, there are plugs that tug the excess strings in. under the plugs, there is a knot the keeps the string from sliding through. undo this knot, then pull the plugs out. this will release the tension on the blinds allowing you to be able to slide each blind out Read More
