Answer:
Pull the cord left or right at almost parallel to the slats until the blinds close. If the wand is the problem, loosen by turning the wand in the opposite direction to what you have done. The blinds should release then.

MMClark,
The Home Decorators Collection 72 in. x 64 in. White Faux 2 in. Slats Wood Blind should have a cord lift control. Pull this cord to the left, at an angle, to release the lock and lower the blinds.

Answer:
The slats are not meant to be removed individually as it would mean cutting all the strings that hold the blinds together. Either remove the entire blind from its header and rinse down outside or in the bath tub or use a fuzzy handheld duster that looks like it has five fingers which are placed in between the slats while in place, and dusting them.

We can't seem to figure out why the mechanism won't allow the blinds to go up and down. Is there something to remove before we do that?

There might be a plastic clip inside to hold it in place during shipping and handling. Remove the blind and reinstall. This usually works.

Chellie,
Make sure all 4 strings in the track are not bound up. If they get tangled, they will jam the mechanism. You will also want to make sure to keep the draw strings as short as possible. Trim them as recommended in the instructions and it will help keep the tangles down.

You must have a malfunctioning shade, there isn't anything to remove to get the shade to go up or down. Pull down to the right to pull it up and lock it, pull to the left to lower. good luck There a nice shade to have.

Hi there SU,
The valance pieces attach onto the clips provided with the blinds. You'll first mount the clip onto the headrail of the blinds and ensure that they're secure. Once you have done so, the valance slides on to the clips by fitting the sections that extend out from it, into the recess made into the back of the valance.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 85 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the look I have six sets installed in my home. I installed five myself. They are quality made, easy to install, easy to operate, and attractive. A great price for "custom cut" blinds. The only part I am not loving is the excess slats at the bottom. I tried to remove them but cut the cord in the wrong place so now I just live with the extra slats. For years I struggled with treatments for my large eat-in kitchen window because this window is only 18 inches from the patio door, and I wanted both treatments to match. I also needed to control the morning sun through both windows. I installed these blinds in the kitchen window and could not be happier. The treatment for the patio door is beige with white leaves so it looks good next to the white blinds, and complete control over the sunlight streaming in. Nice modern look to these blinds. Remember: measure twice, cut once. May 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great inexpensive look Easy to install, very durable. Lets in a lot of light without having to pull blinds up. Works great in rentals. The pulls are much better then wand, don't snap off. May 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wish there was a better way to shorten length i like because they last longer then most, the renters are collage kids who tear up a lot of thing during there stay. September 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Attractive blinds at a very reasonable price Blinds fit perfectly right out of the box, were simple to install, and look very elegant. Slats are easy to tilt in either direction and ropes pull blinds up evenly. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice blinds, easy to install.. (Here 1 tip) Everything was ok. The only comment I can go is I think they are from previous returns, that's why they are cheaper than at stores.. I tell you that because in one of them the hardworking was missing.. I had to go to any store and claim for it.. And in others, I received less scrubs or parts semi broken.. But overall, they was good, no dirty or scratches.. One tip: the curtains are the measure that you ask (e.g. 36" wide) above... But blinds are half inch less.. So when you take the measure of your window think about this: if yo have exactly 36" then buy a blind that says: 36,5"wide x X"long... With this tip is going to fit it perfect. April 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Blinds I bought these for every room in my house, they look like real wood and were easy to install. April 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great look ! These blinds were so easy to install. At present we only put them in our Family room. But because the quality and price, we will be installing them in most room. I would recommend these blinds. March 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice blinds We got these blinds to replace some old ones which after many years were falling apart. While the blades on these are not as thick as our old ones, they are very nice and look great! March 11, 2016
