Customer Questions & Answers

Can I move my large refrigerator across the floor after installation?

Asked by: Katy
Yes, but be very careful. I would suggest putting it on a dolly cart to move it or on a soft blanket to help move it to protect the floor. Try not to slide it too far because any tiny particles on the floor could scratch the floor.

Concerned about what people have said about this floor being "noisy" - is it creaking or is it just the noise you get with any wood floor when there was carpet or other soft surface there before?
Asked by: AJ
It tends to be noisy during humid seasons.

Glueing

I understand you don't have to glue this down to the sub-floor (just use an underlayment and it "floats"#. But, I have read that you DO have to glue the ends of the boards due to fact the pices don't truely snap together, rather the ends lay on top of each other? Can you elaborate on this? Is it really necessary? Is this really how the pieces go together? What kind of glue can be used #standard wood glue#? Have to do this over the entire floor, or just certain places?
Asked by: Eric
Yes, your correct the manufacturer does recommend the Roberts 1407 glue for the end joint application. It is sold is most Home Depot stores .The 1 galloon bucket retails for approximately 27.98

Accessories

Are there any accessories? We need something with a finished edge for a couple of areas.
Asked by: Michele
Pay attention to height limitations on any transition pieces you might buy. The one I originally purchased through HD had a max height of 12mm. Since I installed a 3mm underlayment, and wanted the track in direct contact with the subfloor (no underlayment in between), the product didn't work for my application. I did find another product at another home improvement store that maxed out at 15mm with an included spacer, and the color match was spot on. In addition, it was a 4-in-1 product that could be used in a variety of applications (lam to lam, lam to carpet, lam to hard surface, etc), so it was more versatile.

But this color was the perfect blend between light and dark that we needed to brighten up our home and a good price. We decided to go with these regardless of the reviews of how hard installation was. We are SO glad we did! These floors turned out BEAUTIFUL!!!! The installation wasn't any harder than any other laminate floors. The only tricky part was the first row, but once you put the base boards back on it holds the floor in perfect (or you could glue the first row down). We love these floors, the look is beautiful and we have 2 dogs and haven't seen a scratch yet. We even moved in tons of furniture on them and have had no problems. They hide dirt too which is always a plus! So glad we chose these! I would choose these again!

Floor looks really nice however, after a week or so that it's been down it's starting to seperate in places. Still looks good but not real happy about this. If I had known this I wouldn't have bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Homeowner needed new floors. This floor is beautiful and no one believes it's laminate. Our ONLY complaint is the noise. It is creaky but a lot of wood flooring is. I am worried after reading reviews about warranty. The installer (who Home Depot sent to install) tested the level of our flooring and said they were perfectly fine. We have had parties, lots of redecorating within the almost 3 years of having these floors and animals, scratching is not noticeable in the least. Not sure why some have that complaint? We aren't gentle with our floors because life happens and this is our home. Not going to tip toe haha! I do recommend this floor but make sure you allow your flooring to settle for a couple days and inspect your planks as well as the installer to avoid issue. 3 years and they still look fantastic.

Having no prior experience installing a laminate hardwood floor, I did my due diligence before pulling the trigger, E.g. YouTube, manufacture's website, etc. I rely heavily on product reviews and was hesitate to purchase this particular laminate flooring considering the 3 1/2 star reviews. This floor was a breeze to install in two separate walk-in closets in our master bedroom. I used a laminate flooring blade on my jigsaw to make all rips and cuts of these boards with no problems whatsoever, just a bit more time consuming going the jigsaw route. The hardest part is getting your measurements right for the last row and getting the board to sit in the tongue and grove properly. I did have to use a laminate flooring pull bar to get the last board to sit properly in the last closet. Compliments all around on the look of the finished flooring, I highly recommend this product!

I had an independent contractor install this floor 2-1/2 years ago to replace carpet in my three bedrooms. I have not had any issues with crackling, scratching, warping or other negative outcomes. However, I do not have dogs, and my children are in their 20's, not prone to playing with their toys on the floor! So perhaps my floor doesn't take the hardest abuse. I have had a small amount of water spilled on it which actually sat for a couple of days with no effect on the floor. The contractor put a thick underlayment as a base for the floor which has kept it quiet, and after installation, he put felt pads on the bottom of all furniture used in those rooms to keep them from scratching/denting. But the floor does feel very durable and it looks beautiful. I am very pleased with the color and the wood grain. As far as laminate goes, I am very happy with this floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great look. I've had this flooring in my kitchen for two years and just recently installed it in the adjoining family room. It looks fantastic. There has been no fading of the kitchen floor even though I have a sliding patio door with a southern exposure. There are no scratches and no signs of wear. The connection into the family room was seamless. I get lots of compliments on the flooring.

The one negative was some manufacturing defects that required the installer to sort out the planks with the tongue and groove misalignment. Finished product looks great, though.
