Product Overview

Relax the look of any room with the calm and comforting Driftwood Flatweave Bamboo Roman Shade. Environmentally friendly, semi-private textured natural shades (also called bamboo blinds, bamboo shades, or woven woods) stylishly filter light and protect your furniture from fading. The rich wood tones of natural shades are complimentary to jute and sisal rugs as well as many hardwood floor and furniture finishes. Natural shades are textured window blinds that are available in many different colors and styles. They are popular window treatments for coastal and beach properties, lakeside or country cottages, and traditional or metropolitan homes. For additional privacy or neutral backing, you can attach a fabric privacy liner to the back side of natural shades. Another option for additional privacy is to outside mount natural shades, then inside mount an inexpensive white black out roller blind. Fabric privacy liners and black out roller blinds both can be purchased on homedepot.com.

I am curious about the mounting of a double window since there is no wooden trim in between for typical mounting. Is this still possible?

It’s very common to place 2 shades side by side to dress larger windows. You simple mount the hardware on the top of the window sill where they meet in the middle. We bet it will look great, and recommend you post a picture when you have finished hanging the shades.

Can these blinds be shortened? Also, for an inside mount, if the blind in fully open (all the way up) how much of the window is covered by the blind?

I'm not certain you could shorten these on your own, but they are all a bit long for my window and I just leave them resting on the window sill and it looks good. Or you could keep them raised just enough to touch the window sill and no one would ever know. The valance would hide that. When raise all the way up they hang just maybe an inch or two lower than the valance which is about 5-6 inches so I Read More

I usually pull them up about 3/4 bc I like the look of that. I think they're beautiful. The color is wonderful and the operate very smoothly. I'll attach a pic of mine... Read Less

Answer:
Dear Customer,
The length can be shorten, however any adjustments done on the shade does void the 1 year warranty. When the blind is fully raised up you will have about 13 inches of the blind covering the window. For assistance on shortening the window blind please call 1800-860-1677. If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank You

Are these blinds sheer enough to see into the room? I don't mind light coming in through the blind, but don't want people to be able to see in.

The Driftwood Flatweave Roman Shades are semi-private, however, depending on your preference on the privacy needed, you can purchase a privacy liner as well as the window blind will be a great solution. If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by High end look for less These blinds are beautiful. The color is exactly that popular restoration hardware/ fixer upper weathered gray brown we all love. High end look without the huge price tag. Love the texture they bring into the rooms. That being said...I ordered 5 in various sizes and a couple had some minor imperfections. Mostly splintering on e a few slats, but one had a small piece broken off. But nothing bad enough for me to return them. These were easy to hang. I hung all five on my own with no problem. They are fairly sheer. We live on acerage with no neighbors nearby so privacy isn't a big issue for me. They more or less block and filter light but you can definitely still see through them. Especially at night from the outside in when the lights are on. They operate very smoothly when raising and lowering. It's worth mentioning...they do have the locking mechanism that keeps them up when you raise them. That was unclear in the description for me and I was really happy to have it. Overall, I highly recommend these blinds And will be ordering additional sets. July 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Love them during the day I purchased three of these to go on the windows in my living and dining room along the front of the house. From the outside looking at the house they look nice and are beautiful on the inside. They give my windows a finished look without having to add curtains. (I really wanted curtains but I have a dog that sheds and feel like I would be constantly vacuuming curtains) These blinds allow enough light to come in and allow me to see outside without having to open them. My one big disappointment is that at night if I have a tiny lamp or bright overhead light on inside the house you can see straight into the house from the outside. Since these are along the front of the house I am not too thrilled about that. I did try the lined ones at first but it made my house too dark and forced me to have the blinds all the way open to see out which did not work for us. I am really torn. Like I said they are beautiful and allow light in during the day which is nice but offer zero privacy at night. A passerby can see straight through them. July 31, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Color inconsistencies and missing parts I had to purchase 7 of the same SKU to find 4 that matched in color. This caused me to visit the stores 3 times to buy additional blinds and return the non matched ones. I found that some had 2014 and some had 2015 labeled on them. 5 of the 7 packages had missing parts. No quality control whatsoever. Beware. July 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice, but missing knob on pull cord Blinds are beautiful and very easy to install...only complaint is 1 set was missing the wooden knob on the pull cord..otherwise exactly what I was looking for and am pleased May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bamboo Roman Shades The Driftwood Flatweave Roman bamboo shades look great! The instructions for the install were accurate and easy to follow. The only suggestion I would make is to put 1 1/2 inch screws in the kit, as the 1 inch screws provided were not long enough. They have really made our sunroom look really great. August 25, 2015
