Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DRVMN Easy Installation, Not so easy to shorten . . .
I installed three sets of these mini blinds. Each set installed quite easily but shortening the blinds was extremely time consuming and sometimes frustrating. The unused slats remove very easy. Cutting the excess cord and putting the bottom piece back together is where I spent the majority of my time. Threading the string through the holes on the bottom piece was tricky. I finally took a drill bit and cleaned the burrs out of each hole and that made the job easier. I am a perfectionist so I spent extra time making sure all of the cords were the same length and that everything pulled evenly. I probably spent two hours on each set but it was worth it in the end.

I wasnt expecting a top end blind for the price I paid for them but I was expecting something better than this. The associate at the local HD told me that shortening the blinds was a bit of a pain, I appreciated the honesty, but being in construction for 40 years I thought how bad could it be. Trust me, it's a pain. My biggest gripe is the warped slats and trim for the headpiece. The "thread" that holds it all together and controls movement looks like it will fall apart after a year or two of sun comingu thru the window. Hopefully it will last that long.

Bought the wood blinds because they didn't have faux wood in golden oak. I've had a ton of the faux wood golden oak blinds in the past and they were great. The wood blinds are warped from the get go and do not shut completely. Incidentally, the blinds are not "attached" to the cords so they wouldn't have holes in them to achieve privacy and provide a darker room. But, since they warp, all that becomes moot. So, I'll take 'em back and get the somewhat darker faux wood blinds I can't think of any reason to get these real wood blinds.

Blinds work fine. Drill hole locations on holder make drilling pilot hole and screwing with the drill difficult for inside mounting, hole don't allow enough room to use a drill.
