This beautiful piece of granite arrived safely attached to a board (which was to be screwed to the back of the vanity BEFORE the vanity was installed) - which would have left a gap between the granite and the wall the thickness of the board. As our vanity had been purchased and installed several months ago the backsplash was useless. I believe the description of this product should state it MUST be attached before the vanity is installed - and also note there will be a gap between the granite and the wall. If there had been no board attached to the granite, we would have been very happy with this product.

The backsplash is of very good quality & adds a very nice finished look to the 44" Hampton Bay Opal Glass Door Vanity Cabinet, but attaching it properly to the cabinet was impossible. The backsplash comes with 3 woods screws & 4 bolts. The screws are to be drilled into the rear of the cabinet across its back, while the bolts are to be screwed into the 2 top rear corners of the cabinet with an allen wrench (included). The problem is that the rear of the cabinet does not have the female nuts pre-drilled into it so there are no holes to drive the bolts into. Therefore, I was able to use only the screws to affix the adorn panel to the rear of the cabinet. I hope it holds!! If so, it is a very rich looking piece of furniture.

I purchased the base units in the 72" and the 44". The backsplashes were delayed in shipping for many months. This was a problem with set up and plumbing. We canceled the 72" backsplash and had one made. The 44" when it finally arrived was broken. We sent it back and 3 months later got the second one which was also broken. We are sooo frustrated that we kept it and glued it together so we could have a functioning bathroom. The holes to assemble wer not lined up.

This back splash comes glued to a mounting board. The first one was detached and had broken in two. The second one had to be removed from the backboard and glued onto the vanity as mounting the board would have put the vanity away from the wall. It would have been very helpful to have known that it was on a board from the website. Great return/replace policy from HDC though!!!

Product is beautiful and when I can install it I think it will be beautiful. Unfortunately it arrived broken in half so I am now awaiting the arrival of it's replacement.
Customer service is great and I highly recommend both HD and its products. We purchased a Hamptom Bay vanity, desk and antique wall clock from HD and so far have loved all the products and the quality of them

We were disappointed with this product. It was packaged really well, but still had 2 cracks in it. We are sending it back for credit.

I bought this granite backsplash before I purchased the vanities so I would have a sample to refer to when purchasing my new floors for my bathroom. I live in a small cottage on a river and do not have room to store the vanities while I do all the necessary renovations needed prior to ordering and installing the vanities. When I called the Home Decorators Collection, they did not have any samples of the granite. Several of the reviews I had read warned that you need the backsplash prior to installation of the vanities and that there is sometimes a backorder on them and some even warned of breakage during shipment. So I thought I would order the backsplash first, giving me a sample to work with and also avoid any of the problems other reviewers warned of as well. I was able to receive the backsplash without any damage and in a very timely matter. The granite is beautiful and I am now able to select my floors without worrying if they will coordinate with the granite. I look forward to ordering the vanities after my floors are installed. I am a professional interior designer and I feel the vanities are a tremendous value. Many of the cottage style vanities I investigated in the market place were at least twice the price and the style is truly charming- bun feet and all. Obviously, I can not rate the installation since I have not yet purchased the vanities.
