We installed the Jatoba laminate in 2 spare bedrooms and a short hallway, therefore it doesn't get a lot of traffic because there's only 2 adults in the house. It looks good and easy to install, so had thoughts of installing in the kitchen until I had an extended stay at my brothers. Ironically, he had installed the same in his kitchen and eating area. It was such a hassle to keep clean. Everything we tried either left a haze or streaks. Every footprint showed. I ended up having to clean in sections using a damp paper towel and immediately dry with a towel, everyday. It's not worth it. I would never install in high traffic areas or if there are children running around the house everyday.

We love this flooring. We have three kids and we have spilled mroe times than I can count and we have never had any issues with swelling. Of course we have cleaned it up immediately. It does scratch a little here and there and crayons are a chore to clean off but overall it is very resilient. I use Windex to clean takes a bit of elbow grease but since it hides dirt so well I don't have to clean it as often (shhh don't tell!) as I would tile. Looks great! The installation was a little tricky at the end trying to get the edges to match up with the width of the baseboards but other than it was pretty easy. My only complaint is that the trim pieces are so expensive. We got a great deal on the flooring though.

Flooring is gorgeous, but as a first timer I found the Home Legend click-lock process very frustrating. But apart from that the high gloss finish is very strong. Before I installed it, I discovered that my cat used the top of one of the boxes as a scratching post -- completing shredding the shrink-wrap. I thought for sure the top board would have to be tossed, but it didn't have a mark on it. The floor has also held up to my 40-lb dog's nails. The glossy finish does show dust, cat hair, etc. more, but it's definitely worth it.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jake Beautiful flooring... just don't spill liquid on it.
Installed 1400 sq ft of this flooring in my main living areas and bedrooms. I used a good quality 3 in 1 underlayment to go on top of the concrete subfloor and it stays pretty quiet. The flooring planks went down pretty easy and finished really nice. The end product looks very high-end and rich. It does scratch a little, but only after scraping heavy furniture on it. The real problem with this flooring is its inability to withstand spills without swelling. The fact that the floor has the beveled seam in between planks makes any swells look very obvious. We spilled a small amount of water on the floor and immediately cleaned it up, but later that day swelling could be seen at the seams. That was a month ago and it hasn't gone away. Another time, a bag with water in it was left on the floor and leaked for a day or two without anyone noticing it. 8 boards had to be replaced because of the water damage. Replacing is easy but tedious as all the boards that are between the damaged ones and the nearest wall or expansion joint need to come up. So all in all, this product is pretty but doesn't do well with spills.

I couldn't match my tile so i used wood laminate in all the bedrooms. The transition is excellent! It lloks warm, and very expensive. Shows nice too, since seeing it many of my friends are considering it.

We installed this in our teenage daughter's bedroom. We hired an installer and he said it was one of the easiest floors he ever put down. It took him about 6 hours for a 13x14 room and closet. We've had it 2 years, clean it with a Swiffer and it looks great. It made a drastic change in the appearance of the room and holds up well to the traffic of kids, small dogs and cats without a scratch. The darker color does show fur/dust/smudges but not badly and it cleans easily and has a lovely, polished look. We are moving soon and plan to install it in a bedroom at the new house. I highly recommend it!

I purchased about 800 sq feet of this flooring. I was plwased with the price and durability. My puppy runs and screeches to a stopon it every day and it seems no worse for wear. The problem? I cant wash it without it streaking. I jave tried EVERYTHING. Murphys oil wood soap. Some super gentle hippie soap. Another tougher hippie soap. A regular foam mop. A superdry foam mop. There are *always* streaks. Im not a perfectionist, and it bugs me. I would not buy this again.
