Sir/Ma’am,
Thank you for your inquiry. We can confirm that the Madeline 48 in. Vanity in Chestnut’s vanity top sink does not contain an overflow hole. As a leading manufacturer for baths sinks and vanity tops for the last 25 years, we have removed the overflow holes because it creates the opportunity for unwanted bacteria in the bathroom. Most overflows are designed so that they cannot be cleaned and, over time, will develop mold and mildew that usually will require the homeowner to change out their basin. With thousands of tops/sinks sold in the market today, our customers love not having the overflow/mildew issues. We can assure that all of our sinks are IAPMO Approved to meet or exceed the national plumbing code.
Best Regards.

Katekelmom,
Thank you for your inquiry. We can confirm that the typical care instructions for our products (referenced inside of the Info and Guides box on the Home Depot website) calls for the use of your standard glass cleaner or other household cleansers (so long as they do not contain ammonia, bleach, or chlorine) that are non-abrasive.
Best Regards.

Answer:
I would be use caution in harsh chemicals that may scratch, try vinegar and baking soda paste. Stain may be from curling iron or any container left on top that could rust. Never put curling iron on top without a towel under it.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 65 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It's o.k...... The vanity is o.k. , easy to install, but all over all I think it's to expensive for what you get. ..... , the product is average, if the price would be a little bit less than every thing would fit. August 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY THIS The finish peals off after being exposed to the heat and humidity in a bathroom. I complained to Home Depot and they replaced it but now the finish on the replacement is also flaking off. Do not buy this brand or model. July 30, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty, after some "adjustments"...difficult to recommend for the price For $200 LESS than what they are asking, this would have been a good deal. For the money it cost, I should not have had to majorly adjust the middle doors (they still aren't super great, but they are better than when they arrived- all crooked with glaring gaps), take a sharpie to the obvious nicks, and shake my head in dismay. Do people not take pride in their work anymore? (Probably don't answer that.) The idea is pretty, though, and since it was such a hassle purchasing such a heavy vanity and hauling it home, I didn't feel it was worth it to take the piece back. The manager agreed it was pretty shotty work, and she was AWESOME, helping to compensate a bit. So, overall, it will work. But when I spend this much money, I feel like it should be better than "it will work." Maybe it's just me... July 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Dissatisfied After 2 years vanity top has a crack and is no longer attached to the wood vanity (attachment instructions were followed) and chestnut finish is worn off in places on the front of the cabinet. For $579 this is unacceptable. My local Home Depot suggested I call the manufacturer, Home Decorators Collection, to inquire about the warranty regarding a crack in the vanity top - I was told it doesn't apply because a crack is considered "normal wear and tear." I asked if I could purchase a replacement vanity top - I was told that I can not. The only solution is to re-purchase the entire item (now $599) and trash the 2 year old vanity and top. (I have a mirror and wall cabinet from the same set so I really can not pick a different model.) Because the vanity top has a curved front edge, I can not even replace it with a standard vanity top. Home Depot has said they will give me a 10-15% discount on a new one, but I will still be out another $500+. I really regret choosing this product. August 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ok Nice vanity. Would b better if it was made with all plywood. Also be prepared to by a faucet with 8" center which is usually more expensive than a regular faucet but it also looks much nicer July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Madeline vanity Excellent product, meets all of my expectations.. Adds a very classes look to my newly renovated bathroom. I love the side drawers, which allowed me to eliminate my medice cabinet. Side bar, it needs a backsplash June 7, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No For the Price that we paid then $550 The door knobs do not fit properly, the 'wood finish" is flakey on the top, the legs are rather small, and with just over a year of use I notice pitting in the counter top. Next time I will just spend the money on a decent barn find and a countertop. June 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor quality Poor quality came with a crack in the base where attached to the base The corner seams are noticeable. Unsure how it passed inspection. May 28, 2016
