It was easy to assemble, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The chest is very solid and sturdily built. I highly recommend it.

Just finished putting together this bench. Everything fit together perfectly, all the holes lined up (which is unusual). I would highly recommend this item. It looks great in my kitchen!

DO NOT BUY THIS. I don't understand how this product got good reviews. We bought this furniture in August and the hinges already ripped off and it won't even screw back in. Horrible quality. On top of that Home depot did nothing to help me since it's passed 90 days return policy. Well I don't think a furniture should fall apart in 6 months and if you carry a product you should do everything possible to make it right. Very disappointed with the product and Home depot customer service

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kristin82 Looks nice but very stinky
The bench smells like chemicals very bad. But it was the easiest piece of furniture to put together. Very sturdy and no damage although the package was pretty banged up. Aligned correctly and easy for one person to put together. It just smells very bad.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by KBBD Very poor quality
I've assembled my fair share of inexpensive furniture. Most of the time I'm pretty satisfied with the value. Not so for this thing. Flaws in the finish, poor alignment/fit among parts, poor function of cam locks, screws that won't bite in holes, very poor quality of MDF. The cams should be easy peasy to install, but I literally had several break and even pop through the "wood" on the other side. Fortunately I had some identical parts from another company. I had to stop mid-way through and repeat some mantras just to get me through the burn. If it weren't literally just about the only thing available that will work for me space wise, it would absolutely be going back. Also, the white is very stark.

If you plan to open the lid, this will not last a year. The fiberboard cracks, nails fall out and cannot be fixed. Looks cute but impractical.

When we unpacked the cabinet, we found one hinge broken away from the lid. We tried to use wood glue and hot glue, but neither would hold the particle board together. Since there were two other hinges and we planned to cover the lid with a cushion, we decided to install the lid anyway. After we connected the two side hinges (cabinet side to lid) and opened the lid, a second lid hinge broke. We ended up going to the local hardware store to buy a shelf, had it cut to size, painted it, replaced the small insufficient hinges with a piano hinge and are keeping the cabinet. It looks good, but the original lid particle board is really of poor quality.

We have no mudroom and the carport leads directly to my kitchen. When coming in after the school day, my two teenagers had a bad habit of dropping their backpacks, etc. on the kitchen floor. I wanted something to hide the backpacks but still be accessible when they were coming and going. This bench works great! Two "high school" backpacks fit nicely inside. The extra soccer or cheer bag may have to sit on top but at least it is off the floor! The bench was fairly easy to assemble -- I started it at 9:00 and was finished by 11:30 (without my husband's help). It is sturdy and a good place to sit. I am still thinking about adding a cushion to the top. I love it.
