The light kit is included and there is a plate, which we used, to cover the base. The light kit has a dimmer that works off the remote which is nice if it fits into your decor, we didn't use it.

There is a reverse function. It's a slide switch on the actual fan unit. Unfortunately, you can't change the fan direction with the remote.

You actually have to access the switch on the housing to reverse it. A bit of a nuisance, but we only anticipate changing it twice a year so we can live with that.

That's an easy step to do for a seasonal change IF your ceiling is low enough to let you reach it with a ladder, as we can do in our great room/kitchen and even have already done - factory setting is for "summer updraft." On the other hand, we have an 18-ft cathedral ceiling in our Master Bedroom, so we shall not be using this fan there. It says it is a dual mount, but I don't think it is. A fan this size should probably only be mounted with a down rod, otherwise it takes away from the point of a fan this size. Can save a lot of money getting a smaller fan. I used the 6" down rod and it hangs approximately 18" from the ceiling.

Although I did NOT try to mount the fan in the second of the "dual mount" possibilities, my belief is that it is NOT. It won't mount "flush" to the ceiling. I believe that HD did say one could try a shorter down-rod, but they didn't have one...

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No Flush mount Bought this fan to flush mount in my family room. The box says it can be flush mounted along with the salesman. Got it home and after wasting a whole afternoon found out from customer service it can't be flush mounted. October 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful, elegant lines. Moves air as a ceiling fan should. We purchased two of these ceiling fans because the ones we had installed did not move air. We live in the Tropics and this is essential. This fan does the job. September 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I like it but... The good: - So I think the fan looks great, the blades are nice and don't look cheap like a lot of fan blades do. It has a nice antique-ish finish. - It mounts about as easy as any other ceiling fan I've installed but it is heavier than others. If you've installed a fan before you can install this, just read the directions. - The remote works well and the light dimming feature is nice and works well. - It mounts to a sloped ceiling, but I did buy a longer down rod than came with it. - Airflow, this fan REALLY does move a lot of air, and it does so really quietly. Usually don't need it above 2 to feel air and 4 blow papers off the nightstand. The not as good: - Incandescent Candelabra bulbs, I have bought the brightest ones I could find which are non frosted and put out about 625 lumens at 60 Watts, not efficient, and not super bright either, though much better than the bulbs that come with it. It says that it is not recommended to use LED bulbs, specifically with the dimming function so that limits your choices. - Light pattern (see picture), because I wanted/needed more light I had to get non frosted bulbs which shine directly up and while not annoying all the time, it does cast undesirable light pattern on the ceiling, and bit of a strobe light feel when the fan spins. With the frosted it's a little better but still not great. -The Remote, although it works fine, I was really annoyed to find that I HAVE to use it. I have a wired 3 speed wall switch and separate light switch wired to the outlet box. Inevitably what happens is, you go to bed at night and use the remote to turn off the light, then you get up in the morning and the light remains "off" but the switch is on. Then you go into your room at night when it's dark and flip the switch on, but it's already on, so you use your phone as a flashlight to track down the remote so you can turn it on again. Why wouldn't they include a wiring diagram or option to hard wiring to a wall control? If I could hard wire it, or use LED's, or even just regular bulbs it would be a 5 March 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Fan Had professional electrician install, so I can't attest to the ease of installation. But, since I now have 3 of the exact same fan it must suit my purpose. A note of caution- If you are using an extended downrod or installing on a slanted ceiling, be prepared for some wobble and/or clicking at certain speeds. Not ideal, but not enough to warrant a return. Also, do not expect a great deal of light from the light kit! September 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great Bought this fan for my bedroom and looks great. Give the bedroom the exact look I was going for September 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome air flow We bought this fan for our great room. We have 10 foot ceilings and I was not sure if this fan would be strong enough. But it is!!! It puts off an amazing amount of air. I didn't install it. I had a professional install it so I am not sure about the ease of difficulty of it. It comes with a remote control which is so nice with 10 foot ceilings. The only complaint I would have is the light. It just looks kinda cheap to me. But other than that we love love love it. August 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by elegant and easy Installation takes a little understanding of how wiring works in your home, but overall it is an easy job. Instructions sheet could be more clear. August 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Garbage We bought 2 of these fans. BOTH of them were trash within the first year. Both motors went out and the blade broke off of one as well. Horrible purchase! July 18, 2016
