Rated 5 out of 5Â by Ambrosius Grand, Impressive Fan
We had in our VERY LARGE Kitchen/Dining area a white ceiling-hugging fan that was too small to be useful and too ugly to keep. We also have a lovely Tiffany-style lamp that we wanted to use with whatever fan we chose. Well, we brought home a high-class Hunter fan, even with an internal heater, but it wouldn't work with the Tiffany lamp and had some other issues. After a LOT more research, happened across this one and decided to try it. The original fan was too small. The 52" Hunter would have worked, size-wise, but this one is 60". Thought I'd try it. SHAZAM. Looks fabulous in our wood-everywhere kitchen, and the Tiffany lamp has some shades in it that go wonderfully with the fan body. What they don't tell you: it's really VERY efficient (12 watts at low speed, which still moves a lot of air); it includes its own "dimmer" function in the remote, which works really well (but not wit CFL bulbs - we're using dimmable LED's; and there IS a reverse function, but it's only atop the motor, NOT on the remote. I had to use a different support rod for the large Tiffany shade, but it works well. A bit expensive, but works well, and really makes a "statement." As in "I am HERE."

Rated 5 out of 5Â by MacGyver Have to use your brain for flush mount
No flushmounting instructions, there is a plastic ring on the bottom of part C, take it off to see six mounting holes in the same pattern as the mount on the motor, use the ring that comes off with the six screws as a backing plate inside part C. Do not use parts B or D. From here it is apparent how the fan will mount to the hanger bracket. Flush mounted depth is about 15.5 inches. Very quiet, beautiful fan. Good luck, hope this helps.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Beckster Love Hate Relationship with this Fan
As the title suggests- I both love and hate this fan. I'll start with the negatives:
Con- As others have suggested, the instructions for this fan are not good. Thank goodness for one reviewer (MacGyver) giving instructions for flesh-mounting. If this is what you plan to do, read his instructions because they were very helpful to us. The fan is very heavy and it's difficult to do the wiring while someone is holding the fan- if you have a strong person doing it then you're fine, but it's definitely a two-person job. The biggest problem we had with this fan was operating it. When we got everything installed, the light portion worked, but the fan did not. We uninstalled it and checked the wiring twice. Finally, we decided to jiggle with "reverse" switch, and voila! The fan worked. But it took a lot of unnecessary work. Lastly, the light bulbs that come with the fan get incredibly hot. We will definitely be trading those in for LEDs.
Pro- The fan is beautiful. We installed it in our very large master bedroom and it puts out great air. We also love that the light is dimmable- that was a must for us. It comes with a remote which is really nice- no need to get out of bed to turn the light off/on. I would recommend this fan to others, but only with all of the instructions that I included and the tips I got from others on this site. Installation is not intuitive.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by KHVillager Good looking fan, terrible instructions
It took me the better part of two hours to install, thanks to the terrible instructions. The most significant absence is the directions to flush mount to the ceiling. Thanks to the review posted by MacGyver here, I figured it out, but even then, it was a challenge.
If you have the ceiling height to use the ball mount with the included 6" downpipe, the installation is much easier.
The finish scratches very easily, so handle with care.
The three 60W incandescent candelabra bulbs get so hot, you'll want to change those out to LEDs right away, or else you have a nice 180W heater with a 60" blower fan. It would have been a much better design had they increased the size of the frosted glass bowl just a tiny bit and put in two regular medium (E26) base bulbs, which would have allowed better lighting options. Even with the 3 bulbs, it's too dim.
The fan looks substantial, so be mindful of the size of the room you are putting it in. My room is 12 x 14 with 8' ceiling, and it looks a tad large, though if I had 9' ceiling, it would be just about right.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by marty just what we were looking for.
We have been looking for a fan for our great room and finally decided upon this product. We are very satisfied with the cooling ability of this fan for a room that is 22X15 ft. The remote is a great bonus.
