First of all, the shipment was incomplete - a box was missing. When it was finally located, it was chipped. I had to attach the top with angle braces because the pre-drilled holes were in the wrong place. Home Depot should dump this manufacturer as their quality control is obviously non-existent.

This is one difficult item to put together! It has 21 pages of instruction... The dowl holes do not match from one piece to another...try to make them fit the flimsy wood cracks...got it done but not worth the price!

I have purchased many items through this company and brand. Items are packaged well. If I had any issues, the customer service was very helpful.

This was not easy to assemble. Things were predrilled in the wrong places and some pieces simply did not fit correctly. We were also missing some of the hardware (screws, etc.) Some pieces were very warped. But we managed to find substitutes at our local hardware store that worked.
It is very heavy.
Once finally assembled (my husband had to really work to get it together and he is extremely handy) I do love the look of it.
It makes me hesitate to order other matching pieces.
This was not an inexpensive item so we were somewhat disappointed with the process of assembly.
We are in the middle of a dining room, kitchen remodel and are doing it ourselves and this was an addition to our dining room adjacent to our kitchen.
It also has a strange odor that has taken about 2 weeks to get rid of and it is still slightly noticeable.
It was fabricated in China. So maybe this is part of all the problems.
My kitchen cabinets were also made in China but are a totally different quality and has zero odor and the assembly of those are simple. So I am not adverse to items manufactured in China if the quality is good.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by EJBS Buffet definitely serves it's purpose...
It's a great size... LOTS of storage space, both in the drawers and the two cabinets, and it looks really nice in our kitchen. The only thing that stinks was we waited literally three months to get two replacement doors since two of the doors in the original package were badly scuffed up. Also, now that the doors are on, the pre-drilled holes didn't match up that well, so one of the doors looks lower than the other... noticably lower. At the end of the day, we have our finished buffet in our kitchen and it's just what we needed. Just a frustrating process to get it finished and a little bit of shoddy workmanship.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Puregator Seemed like a good idea at the time...
This piece is not the quality I had hoped for. One of the doors is marred on the outside as well as there being a spot on the top. As I was assembling the buffet, many of the screws failed to grab and would just spin forever.
I realize this is comparatively speaking an inexpensive piece of furniture, but I had hoped for better than this.

I don't usually write reviews for these kind of purchases. I always figure the company is charging me for the item, if they want to advertise they should be paying someone for what they write. However, having said that, there were so many people that reviewed this item and spoke of the difficulty in assembling and the appearance of the buffet after assembly that I thought I would give my opinion. I almost didn't purchase this just because of some of the other reviews.
I was a little worried when the two boxes arrived from the delivery company. They were squashed, half-open and torn. However, the furniture pieces were well packed and protected. There wasn't a single scratch or dent anywhere. Packing department gets a big "well done" for this part of the product.
Let me say at the very beginning that I think this might be the best piece of "assemble yourself" furniture that I have ever purchased. When you're finished, it doesn't look like an "assemble yourself" piece of furniture. The cam locks, cam bolts and wood dowels all fit perfectly and tightened the furniture with no gaps. Even though there's no adjustment possible, the doors aligned well and looked really good. The drawers are solid, spacious and fit perfectly.
First, there are a lot of parts. AND, every single piece and every bag of hardware was clearly marked and easily identifiable. A word of warning though, there are no extra hardware pieces. Every hardware bag has exactly the number of pieces required for assembly. If you are assembling on a rug and unknowingly drop a screw in the nap of the rug, you have to find it. No extras.
I used a small Phillips screwdriver even though I was tempted to use my electric driver. Most of the screws are small and I think would strip fairly easily if over torqued. Hence I used a small screw driver and was extra careful to only tighten as much as necessary. Also, every pre-drilled hole for the screws lined up perfectly during the installation. Nothing had to go in at an angle or odd alignment.
Next, the instructions clearly state that you need two people to assemble the buffet. However, it has been my experience that if I can assemble something in 2 hours by myself, it will take 3 hours if my wife helps me. Lots of questions and suggestions. Anyway, I tried to do as many steps as I could by myself and only used her help when I needed the extra hands. The instructions were clear and easily understood. For the most part, the illustrations were accurate and helpful. I'm going to detail my assembly, step-by-step. My steps correlate to the steps in the instruction manual.
Step 1. Assemble the Door. Took 22 minutes to assemble 2 drawers.
Step 2. Assemble the inner liners. Took 9 minutes. A word of warning. The screws are small and easily strip. Don't over tighten.
Step 3 and 4. Outer sliders. Took 6 minutes.
Step 5 and 6. Outer sliders on middle partition. Took 5 minutes.
Step 7. Assemble adorning panel. Took 11 minutes.
Step 8. Assemble magnets. Took 4 minutes. You might as well install the magnets all the way forward at this point. Otherwise the doors won't hold shut later in the installation.
Step 9 and 10. Assemble access panels. 7 minutes.
Step 11. Assemble bottom panel. 5 minutes.
Up to this point I had done all the assembly by myself.
Step 12 and 13. Continue to assemble the bottom panel. This requires 2 people. Took 10 minutes.
Step 14. Assemble the top panel. Word of warning!!!! Move the buffet close to where you are going to use it for the remainder of the assembly. Once you put that top panel in place, this thing is heavy and not really designed to be moved in a state of partial assembly. Took 2 people and 11 minutes.
Step 15. Assemble the foot. Took 2 people and 2 minutes.
Step 16. Assemble the doors. Pay attention to which direction you install the hinges. I could have done this step by myself but it was easier with my helper holding the door on it's side. Took 15 minutes.
Step 17 and 18. Install the doors. This was the only step that I had to stop and redo one step. The screws used for the outside door hinges are different than the screws for the inside door hinges. Because the inside door hinges install with screws that are screwed in towards each other (on the inside partition), they are shorter (E1). I used the same screws that I used on the outside doors (H1), ran out of screws, and had to go back and remove screws and then reinstall correct ones. Big shout out for my wife catching what was wrong. Took 2 people and 20 minutes.
Steps 19, 20 and 21. Assemble shelf supports. One person, 10 minutes and moving them to different adjustments until she got the shelf arrangement she liked.
Step 22. Install the drawers. 2 minutes.
Step 23. Assemble the back panel. This thing is 3 different pieces and is kind of tricky to hold and get installed. Definitely 2 people. Took 35 minutes. Almost all the screw holes lined up perfectly which was surprising.
Total assembly time: 174 minutes (just shy of 3 hours).
We love this piece of furniture!

Got this on sale, so value was excellent. Received as expected. I have another piece from the Oxford collection which was purchased over 4 years ago. Arrived in 2 large & heavy boxes, nothing damaged. Husband assembled by himself with the exception of me holding the doors while he screwed in the hinges.
