The cabinet took a couple of hours to assemble (comes in a flat box). If you're not handy at this type of thing, I'd consider paying Home Depot to do it. The finished product is very sturdy and looks very nice. We did change the drawer pulls however. Very happy with this purchase

I read the previous reviews before buying and was hesitant BUT this is a great product! Yes it does take time to put together but the instructions are very CLEAR. I had mine shipped to the store and picked it up that way if the box was dented they could take it back immediately. For a piece of furniture I bought my husband LOVED it.

The product parts were packaged extremely well. Nothing was damaged or scratched. ALL parts were accounted for, including nails and screws. The instructions advised 2 people for assembly, but I was able to do it myself. Two people would make it easier though. It looks great, is sturdy and meets my needs.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by chloe392 Looks nice.
As other reviews stated, the holes for the drawer glides were totally off. One predrilled hole for a drawer dowell was way off, I had to take it apart and drill for a screw because it created gaps in that drawer.
I'm not sure how well the tiny little screws are going to support the drawer glides when the drawer are full, guess I'll see soon enough.
BUT it is really pretty!

This file cabinet looks more like a piece of furniture than a file cabinet. It took me 21/2 hrs. to put it together. If you've never put anything together like this, I wouldn't recommend doing it by yourself. I have fairly good carpentry skills, and it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. The drawers have to be put together EXACTLY as the diagram has them laid out. If not, the pre-drilled holes for the sliders won't match. The drawers are very tight when you first slide them in....you have to push really hard. But after you get them in, I recommend putting a little lithium grease on the sliders. After pushing them in and out for awhile, they get much easier. Overall, it's a good cabinet. One thing I feel I should mention is the fact that it is made out of some type of pressed board. It's not actual wood. I wouldn't use larger screws, it may crack the material. The package still in box weighs 90lbs.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by z99702 This is a nice unit at a good price
Assembly took more than a few hours - you cannot rush this. Assembly was easy as the instructions were detailed and well thought out. Once assembled, the drawers operate perfectly. The ball bearing glides are excellent, but they are a little greasy. Be careful where you set them during assembly so you do not get grease on anything. Overall fit and finish are very good. My only criticism is with the hardware for anchoring the unit to the wall - much too flimsy. I used my own 'L' brackets to anchor the unit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mel I Love my new file!
I just want to say that I was not expecting such a beautiful file system! It did take my husband several hours to put together, but it was absolutely worth it!!! The quality is top notch! And the drawers slide in almost by themselves, just like very expensive kitchen cabinets! I am so happy about this as I am disabled and my arms are not strong! Thank you Home Depot!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by scorp3700 Nice Cabinet - Terrible Packaging
This is a very nice file cabinet. The only problem was there were some cracks on the seams where paint was missing. I called the manufacturer and they gave me a partial credit because I did not want to return it as it was already put together. I just needed to touch it up with paint. My biggest problem with this was the styrofoam packaging. It is horrible. The styrofoam pills and is all over everything in my house. My furniture, my clothes, even my dog. It took me longer to clean up all the tiny styrofoam pieces that it did putting the cabinet together. I am still finding styrofoam pieces weeks later. It will make me seriously consider if I want to do this again with any other furniture. It was beyond frustrating. I am sure that there are better packaging options that are environmentally friendly as well.
