As some reviewer said before, it’s hard to get nice large bookcase with glass for this price. However, here is my experience: The furniture arrived without any shipping damages; glass in door was very well protected against breaking. In the hardware package two knobs were missing. Customer service immediately ordered for me the new ones. This piece of furniture was not made as well as the Oxford storage cabinet I purchased. The bottom of the cabinet was made tiny bit wider, then the bottom front bar so that on each side on front you could see connecting dowels (see the picture). I’ll try to fill it up with the brown caulk. Bottom of the cabinet (inside) has few inches stripe of slightly buckled surface, hopefully it will go after putting the weight on. For door attachment is necessary to have at least one additional person: the door is very heavy. Because of significant weight of door, the bookcase should be anchored to the wall, because when doors are left open (while the bookcase is empty) all cabinet starts overturning towards to the front. Anchoring hardware is included, but it’s for close attachment to the wall only. Behind my bookcase are hot water baseboards, so I need few inches long attachment rod, that is not included (will visit hardware store). Although working with water level, we had difficulties to attach the back panel. The quality of material is not the greatest: No matter how carefully I did assembly, suddenly I found tiny chips. I fixed them with touch-up marker, so it’s practically invisible. It’s just little annoying. Now, when finally assembled the bookcase looks very good. The color is well blending with other furniture in the room. I cannot wait to bring my books stored in boxes above the garage and put them in

I purchased this shelf in Summer 2013 and I've had it for almost a year now. When assembling the shelf, I had a difficult time doing so alone.
•You definitely need more than one person to assemble the shelf.
•The back panel of the shelf is quite flimsy.
•The knobs and glass seem fine.
•I like that the doors have magnets so when you close the door, it securely closed.
•When closed the doors look slightly uneven, but this could be due to the way I assembled.
•The plastic shelf holders are NOT good quality. I had 2 shelves break because the plastic shelf supports either bent or broke.

Excellent Cabinet for the money. Very Heavy.
Moderate assembly difficulty but if you follow the directions you will have no trouble.
No blemishes of parts upon delivery and I bought two of these cabinets.
Well packaged. All parts present to the exact number needed.
Note: When it comes to attaching the doors to the cabinet use three of the styrofoam packaging blocks stacked up to support the doors. If you select the right combination of blocks the holes in the hinges will align with the screw holes in the cabinet perfectly.
One note...there are 4 small dowels used at the bottom of the cabinet...glue these in for better support.
I would buy these again.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture! It looks like a fine old (not in a bad way) piece. I read a lot of reviews that commented that the finish was too red, but I disagree--it's a gorgeous cherry finish. The quality is top-notch. It's a very sturdy and solid piece. Assembly was pretty easy. You do need two people to hang the doors. The only negative thing that I could say about this bookcase is that one of the holes that are drilled into the side pieces to hold the locking mechanism wasn't drilled deep enough. I assembled it without it and it's fine. I'm not planning to move it, so I don't expect that to be a problem. Would I recommend this bookcase to a friend? Absolutely--I already did!

This is a beautiful piece of furnitre! I bought it in black and the color is glossy and rich. It was easy to put together except for the doors. They are heavy so it was difficult to attach to the rest of the hutch. Once they were on, it kept leaning like it would fall over in the direction of the doors. The directions instruct you to brace it onto a wall so make sure before you buy it that it will be against a wall. I've moved it several times and you have to keep a hand on it when it's not attached to the wall or it will tip. It's still a beautiful piece, worth the trouble :)

I read a few reviews that stated that this product arrived scratched or damaged, not the case with mine. My 7 year old son and I set this book case up in less than an hour. quality was excellent for the price. the door allignment was not as bad as I thought it would be. would have been better if it had internal lights however. looks great with our cherry living room. do not over tighten the screws!
we love our addition to our collection of cherry furniture. looks elegent. The magnets, despite what I read in other reviews ar deffinately strong enough. good purchase!

This is a great piece. We really needed a tall bookshelf with doors. This is a beautiful tall piece that provides a lot of space. However, it scratches very easily. I barely grazed one of the doors and it already shows a white nick on it, which isn't great on a black cabinet. Also, the glass panes are a little loose so when the doors are opened or closed they make a vibrating noise. We've tried to tighten the braces for the glass, but have had no luck. Overall, I would recommend this piece- it is pretty, provides good space, especially for the price.
