I bought the Oxford two drawer Lateral file cabinet in August of 2012 to match our Oxford desks in our home. It is pretty and the room looks great design wise - But the file cabinet is just not strong enough for real use. The upper drawer's slide mechanisms started causing problems within months and have been broken beyond use for the last year. This is for our home files, the drawers were not opened frequently - maybe once or twice a week. I think the drawers are just not strong enough to hold the weight of it being full of files - but it is a file cabinet and that is it's purpose. I am so very disappointed and feel I wasted my money.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by BeccaS OK for price
This file cabinet was a lower price than similar cabinets from other companies, which was a large factor when I decided to buy this piece. It was not terribly difficult to put together, but definitely required two people and a bit of time. I am happy with the overall look, but am a bit disappointed in the sliding of the drawers--they get stuck and do not slide smoothly. In hindsight, I probably should have known that this would be the case based on the significantly lower price.

I needed a file cabinet and after researching quite a bit, I found this product. Assembly was not difficult and it looks great. It matches the desks we have in our office area.

The 2-drawer lateral file cabinet looks very nice with high a high quality finish on the wooden and particle board components. Unfortunately, the cap-lock system of assembly is poorly created such that additional support screws are needed to secure the assembly and correct a "rickety" result. Based on my past experience with well-designed cap-lock assembly systems, this one is poorly done. Buyers beware.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by EJS1 Oxford Lateral File Cabinet - 3 drawer
I am usually very satisfied with products I order from Home Decorators, however, I'm disappointed with the qualify of this product; the materials are somewhat flimsy and I don't believe this product will hold up. One of the drawer fronts arrived damaged and when I went to repair it, I discovered that the molding was pressed paper or chipboard and not wood. Plus the front kick plate split when I assembled the cabinet.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by kjahdslkhf Not worth the cost
The shelf looks nice, but it is the most unstable shelf i have ever purchased. Our Walmart shelves are sturdier than this shelf and it was about 7X the price. The shelf is basically falling apart and it appears that our files are too heavy, when this is indeed a file holding drawer. NOT HAPPY!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ellerye Nice finished product - issue with parts
I ordered 2 oxford lateral 3 drawer filing cabinets. The first one was assembled without much difficulty. All parts and hardware were labeled, which aided in putting it together. The most difficult part is screwing the drawers in to the sliding apparatus. The second one had faulty workmanship. Part B of the frame had 1 hole that was drilled too big for the cam-bolt. Part F (drawer front) was significantly gouged and there wasn't a hole for one of the cabinet pulls. I am pleased with the final product of the 1st one but definitely disappointed with the 2nd. Customer Service representatives were pleasant and arranged for replacement parts. However, it will take 3 to 7 business days for the parts to arrive.
