Customer Questions & Answers

Is the light in this fan dimmable thru the remote?

Asked by: RAB
Yes, but only dims to about 50% of normal, so in my opinion it is noy 'fully dimmable.' I would prefer it to dim much lower.

Can the light be turned off if you want to use the fan only?

Asked by: Barb
Yes. The wireless remote lets you control everything separately.

The LED light flutters with the current dimmable switch. Is this lighting unit compatabile with dimmable switches made for LED lighting?

Asked by: John
I didn't experience flickering with a my rocker switch, but when I installed my dimmer switch it began to flicker when I tried to dim it from the wall. This could have been due to me having it connected to the receiver for the remote control. The remote actually dims the light when you simply hold the button down. I can't say this would happen if you opted to not hook up the remote and just go with two separate wall switches that can dim and the other can control the speed of the fan. I used the skylark Lutron dimmer switch that is compatible with dimmable leds. I have to switches but since we opted to use the remote it left one switch non-functional. I will say the remote is very convenient in our bedroom when we are in the bed so I like the controller. If we decide to rent our house one day then we will probably try to just do switches to avoid the controller getting lost by tenants. Hope this helps.

I should have purchased the lighter version. However, it puts out great light and the fan is super quiet. The remote helps fuel my endless pursuit of laziness. Only problem, I can't figure out how to put the fan in reverse (if it can even spin the other way). I could read the owners manual, but it's in the other room and I am an American.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Petersford led 52” fan A nice-looking fan, only takes one person to put up. The Led light was much brighter than I thought it would be. The fan was mounted above the bed and the light lit up the whole room. The remote control was the selling point as we had to yank on a chain to change the fan speed and light. The only thing I would recommend, when putting up the mount on the electrical box it says to remove one screw and loosed the other one ¼”. It tells you to do this after you have hung the light which would make it hard to access the screw unless you had a short Philips screwdriver. Other than that, all parts are included but you may want to get some electrical tape. About two hours to assemble and install.

I did not need to balance the blades. They were fine right out of the box. The remote is easy to use, and has proven to be a great asset for someone with limited mobility... The fan is a lovely addition to my den, stylish and functional. Bonus points for silent operation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean Look Elegant, Clean Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan with a integrated 17-Watt LED light, reversible 3 speed motor and 52 inch 5 reversible dark walnut/medium maple blades. A whisper-quiet airflow in an indoor space no larger than 20 ft. x 20 ft and a handheld remote control offers dimmable light and 3 speed control. The brushed nickel finish and clean refreshing design and are compatible with any décor. My install was a simply remove and replace, but the wiring is straight forward with only the black/white and ground needed to the control modular. I also had the red from the duel wall switch which was capped off. All other wiring is off the control modular to the fan motor and light are clearly color match. Uses one 17-Watt LED light kit, included, replacement available on homedepot.com, it's Dual-mount installation for standard and sloped ceiling application, cannot be flush mount with included brushed nickel 4-1/2 in. down rod with 3/4 in. Dia. Comes with a Lifetime motor warranty.

We've remodeled two homes in the past 3 years and installed 6 different kinds of fans between them. This one is truly silent and moves air well. The light is bright, which has been very challenging to find in newer fans - I'm usually disappointed by the lumens and how dim lights are but this has been fantastic. It's quite low profile for the low ceiling room. The negatives are it was difficult to install and like many modern fans is controlled by a remote control. Wiring for the old fan had one switch for the fan and one for the light, so we had to install a blank on one side and now there is only one switch to turn the unit on. I would definitely buy this fan again.

I purchased four of these fans for a condo in Hawaii as replacements for four other fans that were just too noisy. The good is that they look great and the light does a decent job of lighting up a small room however the bad is that when sleeping under one of these you can still hear some motor noise though it was not enough to keep me from going to sleep it was still a bit annoying. To be fair during the day when there are a lot of other noises around you cannot hear the motor noise. Out of the four fans I only had to add a balance weight to one of them.

Fairly easy to install, although since I live in a cabin it is installed directly onto a beam instead of into an electrical box, and wired it with a plug. Very pleased with the volume of air the fan moves. Although it says dimmable, and many reviews say it is fully dimmable, in my opinion it is not fully dimmable. At its brightest it is supposed to put out 1056 lumens, and it is indeed bright enough, but it only dims about halfway, or around 400-500 lumens (see pics). Would like it to dim even more but it won't. Also, several times I have had to push the remote buttons several times before the fan responds. Distance is about 4 feet from the receiver, which I have mounted externally from the fan.
