We have had this rug in our family room for 5 or 6 years and because of the hardy material it has held up to a lot of abuse and still looks fresh. This one is made of SEAGRASS and it wears like iron. It doesn't shed, scuff, snag or show much wear at all. The canvas trim around the edge shows some dirt and minor stain, but overall this rug is a great value for the size and look. When it gets wet (spills or the dog has an accident) the natural material turns a darker shade of brown/orange. You just flush and soak up the mess, put a layer of papertowels under the rug (we have ours on a wood floor) until it dries in about 24 hours, and you'd never know. Also - because of the sturdiness of the material, this rug doesn't slide around and constantly need to be 'squared up". Its not plush on bare feet, but not uncomfortable.

I purchased this sea grass rug rather than a jute rug after reading that jute stains easily and sea grass does not, as well as reading that sea grass cleans easily. Since it is under our dining room table, that was important. Initially, it shed a few grass pieces, but after vacuuming a few times (yes, you can vacuum this!) it no longer does. The color is good, a natural tan. I also read that dogs may urinate on sea grass, but thus far my dog still prefers going outside and has not been confused by having "grass" in the house. Ha. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Homeshopper Good overall appearance
First, the shipping took a long time (3-4 weeks) and the delivery truck broke down and a couple in a station wagon dropped it off. The rug itself looks even in color with no pieces of seagrass loose or sticking up. It has a that dried beach grass smell but I don't mind it. The boarder on one side came dirty, so I put that side under my sofa. It's been about a week and it still is not lying flat. I think eventually it will settle and flatten out with the floor. I know it's durable and easy to get stains out because I have another one so it works well with my kids, animals and appeals to my décor. Overall, it is what a wanted, a blank canvas to cover my hardwood floor. I think it should be less money for the quality, but I probably would buy it again because it works.

We purchased this rug for a covered deck less than a month ago. I do not live in a super humid climate and had a different outdoor rug last year for the same space. Initially, we were very happy with the rug until mold spots started showing up all over it ... Taking it back to the store tomorrow.

I was hesitant to purchase this rug because of the price. It seemed a little too inexpensive for a 9 x 12 seagrass compared to other places I searched! When I unrolled it I was SO happy! It is a very nice quality and it looks like it will last a long time. I have see many other more costly seagrass rugs in friends homes and this is right on par!

Bought this rug to lay over a travertine tile floor in living room. Looks very nice and seems to be wearing well.

The rug did not have the basket weave look but I knew that was the case based upon previous reviews and was ok with that. I love the fresh sea grass smell (I feel like I'm at the beach!). Rug seems very durable and much softer than our previous sisal rug. I purchased a rug pad elsewhere and made it more comfortable (not yet trimmed to fit in photo). Very pleased with purchased!

Smells a little like fresh hay when you first open, but fades after a few days. Superb value.
