The first problem I have with this hall tree is my own fault. I had looked at many including this one and another made by the same company and in the same 'line' meaning it also had shutters and it was offered in a dark cherry - which is what I thought I was getting when I ordered this one. The black is nice but I have absolutely no furniture or accessories that are black and this stands in my hallway and is the first thing that you see. I am disappointed that I mistakenly ordered this but after all the problems putting it together, its here to stay. The back is flimsy, but otherwise very stable and well made.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by eskienut Disappointed but not a terrible product.
I thought this product had more wood than particle board, which it does not. Had I known this, I would have purchased the black instead of the weathered oak. The color really shows the lack of wood. My fault! I thought the assembly directions were clear and right on. I did have a few corners damaged during shipment, but I did not bother to go through the hassle of getting them replaced. I can hide it. This is a solid piece, but do not order the weathered oak. It looks fake and cheap...

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by melanne058 Looks great, but has some issues
Put this hall tree together myself...I appreciated the detailed labeling of all the parts. That made it easy to find what I needed. The assembly has you put together the top part first, then the second and then you install the top onto the bottom. YOU WILL NEED ANOTHER PERSON to help you with this part. The top piece is pretty heavy and you have to put it down on top of some screws. After that, it's pretty smooth sailing. However, I did find that the top part did not screw in tight with the bottom piece. It's almost as if the screws weren't long enough. So, that piece is wobbly and not steady. I may need to drill a different/longer screw from the inside of the bottom piece to really secure it down. But I hate having to do that, that issue should have been accounted for in the manufacturing. Also, the vertical wooden slats that you see in the back of the tree aren't very stable. They are individual pieces and they wiggle around. Again, this seems to be another result of the top part not fitting exactly right into the bottom piece. Even though it has these issues, it still LOOKS nice and is functional.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by IDYMAMA A breeze to assemble and a beautiful addition!
The Shutter Hall Tree was shipped and delivered faster than promised, the assembly directions were easy to follow, no missing parts, and as it says in the directions, it does take two people to assemble due to its size and weight. The finish is beautiful. The only issue we have is that we need a cushion for the bench, and after inquiring we found that no cushion is offered that is the right fit. So be prepared to make your own, pay for custom cushions, or find something close!

We purchased the shutter hall tree for our laundry room in order to hide two electrical panel boxes. The piece fits perfectly & looks great! Love it!!!

I ordered this hall tree for my entry way. It looks great and was easy to put together. It was shipped and delivered within one week. It all came intact with no damage. There was one tiny corner on the bottom that the wood/particle board chipped off but I just used an ebony furniture marker to cover it up and you cant tell at all. This is a very nice piece for the price!

This was a fairly easy piece to assemble, until the very end, screwing on the tall back pieces was difficult.
Looks good though.
The stickers were very hard to take off though
