This floor can be floated or glued down depending on need, so there are certain floors where it will not work underneath; carpet & laminate for example. In most cases I'll recommend starting fresh from a subfloor where you know the condition is good.
If you'd like to discuss this further, please post on our How-To Community Forum so we can go more in detail with you on this and please be as specific as possible with describing your project situation.

Answer:
Yes, it can, with some additional assistance from a humidifier; the flooring needs to stay within 35% - 60% relative humidity for the life of it.

Answer:
Hey lauriemm,
Although you live in Colorado in a dry area, the flooring you picked should be installed in an indoor climate-controlled room. This means that regardless of where you are in the U.S., you should have no worries with this floor, as long as you have central heating and air in the room where the floor is going to installed.
Hope this helps you out,

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! But HD left me holding the bag. I have put this down in my dining room, my front living room, my office and family room in the 36" pieces. I had a water accident that damaged a 3rd of the flooring in my office and needed replacements. But Home Depot discontinued the 36" blank size and now only offers the 72" pieces in this style. Thanks Home Depot. What I needed was two boxes which would have cost around $145. Now it's going to cost me $650 to find another style of flooring to cover the office. What a bummer. August 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install, very durable, and looks great! This product was easy to install for my wife and I. Did the living room and hall, and the master bedroom. After we installed the floor, had the kids visit from PA. They brought their 70 pound lab with them. I was worried that the floor would have all kinds of marks on it! Well, after the visit not one mark on the floor. Very durable! We also have a dog and it's holding up well. Just looks great! We are planning to do the other 2 bedrooms now. We are pleased to get rid of the carpet and have a nice clean, dust free home! Just a great product to have in our home! July 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely LOVE this floor! We installed 20 boxes of this floor into our living room and dining room in less than 8 hours. Quality of planks in every box was excellent. You do need to mix the planks between boxes to avoid color blocking and achieve the traditional wood floor look. Since this is a floating floor, there is a slight hollow noise and occasional popping that I don't get with my tongue and groove floor. Regarding the hardness of the floor: my husband and I dropped soup cans on multiple wood floor samples and this was the only sample that did NOT dent. :-) But you have to be sure you get the woven or strand bamboo because the regular bamboo is softer than most woods. I was frustrated that I had to order the baseboard as it is not stocked in any stores in my heavily populated area.(and no one at the store told me I had to order it so I thought I could pick it up once we were done installing the floor.) After we picked up the baseboard we realized we were going to need quarter round, which also needed to be ordered. You will notice in the pic that we used oak and stained it dark to match our furniture as I didn't want to wait another 1.5 weeks for a shipment. But now I need a transition piece for the foyer ceramic tile and will have to order that, and wait 1.5 weeks. That is the only frustrating part - the accessories are not in stock and take over a week to get in. February 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install and looks great! My wife and I installed the flooring and it was so easy! We are very happy with how it looks and the simple care of the floor. Thinking of installing this floor? Go for it!!! December 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it Put down 600 square feet in my living room in 2 days. Its been 6 months and it still looks great. we have 2 kids, a dog, and a cat. I have recommended this exact product to friends. September 13, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This purchase was a total loss. I installed the floor and it looked great for a couple of weeks. Then some water got on a couple of boards. The boards warped and lifted up. I removed half the floor to get to the pieces and found that 4 were bad. I replaced them with a few extra I had and relaid the floor. A couple of weeks later the lock on the boards started coming apart. Now 1/4 of the floor is starting to come apart. I have never been so dissatisfied with a product in my life. This floor is a total useless product and I can't afford to replace it. I can't believe that you would sell such a junk product. I gave it a Poor rating because there was not a choice for useless. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Too many bowed pieces and too many air pockets after installation We purchased nearly 1000 sft of this hardwood floor. Installed them rapidly. While doing so, we noticed every 3rd or 4th piece bowed about 1/2 inch in the middle. Some we kept it aside, others we pressed in position, it seemed to fit nicely. But once all the flooring was done, we started noticing significant air pocket spots all over the flooring. only way to remove this "bouncy" spots is by removing everything and reinstalling. What a waste:( The flooring now feels like cheap laminate. You might as well pay less and go for laminate. Plus, we had to throw away nearly 100sft of bowed flooring away. Our return on this investment is very poor. Oh, by the by, we followed the instruction 100% February 13, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Woeful Documentation An essential and indispensable element of a product of this nature is accurate and complete documentation. Unfortunately, the documentation enclosed in the twenty plus cases we purchased and had installed was woefully inadequate. Following the care instructions enclosed yielded partially cleaned and haze ridden flooring. Only a call resulted in correct care instructions, which allowed us to bring the floor back to presentable condition. Furthermore, being directed to the revised and expanded documentation that is only currently available online, we were made aware that there is so little regard for the end user that no notification, such as a sticker on the box exterior, has been made available. We hope the floors prove durable, but are beyond disappointed by what it took to find accurate care instructions. October 4, 2013
