Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sailinalong12 Bought 2 for garage, just bought a 3rd for backyard lawn light.
My original garage lights were put in by the developers (Beazer Homes). Of course, they were not the greatest quality, but did last 7 years. So, time to upgrade and purchased 2 Waterton outdoor wall lanterns for my new garage lights. These are "MEDIUM" size garage lights. Installed by a local electrician and his sons. They took the old ones out, made the wire connections & had the new lantern lights on in 20 minutes.
This was in late June. I am so impressed with these outdoor lanterns.... bought a 3rd light and going to install it as my backyard lawn light next week.

The screws to attach the Wall Plate were about a 1/4" too long, so I could not snug the plate, flush with the wall It tilted, leaving a gap that bugs and insects could climb behind the plate and build a nest. I had to buy 12 #6 flat washers to stack then high enough that the cap-nuts could press the wall plate flush with the wall.

The wife wanted new outdoor lights and she thought these would look good. They do look good, but they were a pain to install because the electrical boxes on my house were oriented with the mounting holes horizontally. The reason this is a problem is that when you try to screw the light down the bolt intersects with the mount. This requires either a modification of the mount or cutting of the bolt. I say cutting of the bolts because I couldn't find a similar thread size.
I ended up installing 4 of them. I put a 40W equivalent LED bulb in them and they put out a nice amount of light. Very happy overall.

Looks awesome and well made. We replaced some oversized lights with these and they look so much better.

Glass lenses are not as "rippled" as shown in pictures. Therefore light from larger bulbs (100W) can create a glare problem.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jb6680 Looks like a more expensive fixture
Great quality fixture for price. Well made. Bought 8 of them in 2 sizes. Be careful with thumb screws during installation as they are impossible to find if you drop them. Also, mounting screws are not centered which is a consideration if replacing older unit with round base. Overall, excellent product.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BobF Looks great, but poor design
The lantern looks great when its installed, but the design made installation a nightmare.
Here are 4 items that caused me issues with the design
1. The screws to attach cross bar to outlet box were too large, so I needed to purchase smaller screws. Other lights I have purchased provided 2 different size screws for connecting to the outlet box, as they recognized different boxes required different size screws.
2. The mounting screws are much too long, and there is no way to adjust them. I needed to cut them shorter because I didn't want to make a 2nd run to Home Depot. The screws need to be long for recessed outlet boxes, but there should be a way to adjust them when the outlet box is flush.
3. The mounting screws did not have nuts to secure them from spinning. When trying to tighten the cap nuts, I couldn't tighten them because the screws turned. I needed to use the nuts from the light I removed to keep the mounting screws from spinning.
4. The wiring exits the lantern into the base right where the cross-bar sits. There was definitely push back from the wires when trying to fit the lantern it to the base. I do not know if this will cause damage to the wires.

We purchased four to replace our old lights after having the house repainted. They really compliment the exterior. The installation instructions were extremely simple to follow and they were mounted and functional in a very short time.
