Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Heather The rod inside blind brakes and is not under warenty!
When you pull the cord to open and close the blinds it turns a rod inside the blind. This rod brakes after about a year of use. We have had to replace 2 sets of blinds, and home depot customer service cannot help us because this particular part is not under warranty. If we knew the blinds would cost so much to maintain, we would have spent the money upfront for a higher quality blind instead of having to keep replacing them.

The installation was quick and relatively easy. The 72 inch width was just right without any cutting for my window.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SonnyAndSam Incredible Value Compared to the Name Brand Blinds
I purchased 4 of these blinds and my wife and I love them. They were easy to install and look great. They cost less than half of similar blinds from the name brand faux wood blinds and the quality is nearly as good. Not wild about the look of the valance compared to the name brand blinds but it looks fine and was easy to install. Installation was a breeze. Had no issues at all. Even an inexperienced DIYer should be able to install these easily. Just take your time and read the directions carefully. Love the look. They are far better than our old 1 inch aluminum blinds.
So what did I not like? I ordered mine to be delivered to the store because several folks reported damaged boxes arriving at home. Sure enough, one box out of four was quite damaged. Home Depot Customer Service had inspected the blinds and ensured the blinds themselves were undamaged and all hardware was still there. I also have one cord that runs tightly used to open and close the blinds. Considered ordering a new one as a replacement but haven't done it yet. It works OK, just not as smoothly as the other three.
And some advice to those who have complaints. Return the defective blind and get a replacement or your money back. Home Depot return policy is excellent and easy. IF you want perfect quality control, pay 2-4 times more and buy one of the name brand blinds; and pay even more for professional installation.

I installed two 72" and one 36" of these blinds. One of the 72" blinds fit perfectly with no shortening needed. The other two were shortened to half there length. After reading these blogs I was anxious to start. I'm not particularly handy but at times I manage. I had zero issues reducing the length of these blinds. Yes, you need to be patient and not get distracted while cutting the proper lines and loops. There is no need to trim the loops nor the ladders particularly close because you end up trimming away all but four inches that hangs below the bottom base. Make sure you leave one rung attached below your bottom ( last ) blind. After you've cut all the necessary ladders & rungs simply pull the shade up to meet your desired lowered length. Make sure all of your lines are in there proper place and cut the two cords about 4" below the base. Then simply coil the strings in the bottom of the base and push the plug firmly in. I didn't even need a screwdriver. Good sharp scissors, steady hands and in my case glasses and your good! If one end of your base is slightly lower than the other just coil & plug that one to the height of the other end. Again, don't let little ones or the one you love distract you! Also, keep in mind you didn't purchase custom $1000 or more blinds but you certainly won't be dissatisfied.

I love the look of these blinds and have used them in my house and condo. However they don't last because the tilt control breaks easily. I'd say this has happened to a 1/3 of my blinds. I'm going to see if I can replace the tilt control rather than buy new ones.

The wide slats are exactly what the doctor ordered. They look great open or closed. They also let in lots of light. We also can't tell the difference between wood or faux. The price is right!

I purchased these blinds for my studio. I really needed the light. It made a dark room bright without the sun and I will be using this kind when I move.
