Can the direction of the fans be changed by the remote.

It does not. I would be awesome if it did.

Will the light dim if I buy dimmable LED bulb?

If I buy dimmable LED GU24 bulbs, can I dim the light using the remote control?
Asked by: eli
Yes, but you need to set the proper switch in the remote (from the user manual): If you are using dimmable bulbs and you have previously set O/D dip switch in your remote to the “D” position, press and hold the button to activate the dimmer function. For fans with incandescent bulbs or dimmable LED bulbs, slide the dip switch O/D to the position marked “D”, if you are not using incandescent bulbs or dimmable LED bulbs slide the dip switch to the “O” position.

Lights

Can the light be dimmed?
Asked by: JP
We have a very similar fan, not sure if it is exact, but if you hold down the light button and have a dimmable light bulb in the unit then it goes through various brightness levels. The book on Page 15 as someone mentioned shows how to conduct this function. http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/17/17b7b614-5ec8-40bc-8e7a-def1b8b85d79.pdf

What is the length of the fixture drop from the ceiling -- how many inches from ceiling does it hang?
Asked by: Brandy
Using the flush mount, NOT the extender bar, the bottom of the light cover is approximately 12" from the ceiling.

We love the fan but as many have stated, the light kit has issues and doesnt produce a lot of light. I installed a screw bulb conversion with 100 watt bulbs a year ago n still going strong. 75 watts is probably enough because the bedroom is Super bright now. I can at least share that this bulb fits so 75 watt definitely would. Swap n enjoy> Sylvania 100 watt LED (uses 14 watts). Install a gu24 to A19 conversion n screw in the new bulbs.

Both fans don't wobble and they're easy to install. I recommend you watch the Home Decerator's Youtube installation video for helpful tips. My ceiling is too low, so I installed the fan without using the down-rod. The remote has been updated to a more modern look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Fan!! I've had this fan installed 4 days ago and am very impressed with it. It replaced another fan very old fan in my bedroom that was loud and off balanced. The fan also required a cover because previously there was a big square light fixture. This new fan is very quiet and keeps the room very cool. I had an electrician install it and he and a helper took about 40 minutes removing and installiing the new one. Highly recommended.

This was ordered as a replacement for an earlier model of the Windward 52 in. fan. Over the years I have probably installed two dozen ceiling fans. The location of the remote receiver in the housing at the ceiling is nuts. it requires all sorts of gyrations to get the wires out of the way in order to get the receiver in place. There must be a better way. We have two of these fans in the same room so it was necessary to replace the one that failed with a similar one. The good news is the new generation remote is much cleaner and smaller than the previous model. Also, the light now uses two bulbs in place of the hard to find 9" florescent in the previous model.

Maybe they will be brighter than the included GU24 CFL's. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. Installation was a breeze. There is a delay from the time the light switch on the wall is turned on until the light and fan come on. I am half way into the room before I get light. For that, I am knocking it down 1 star. It is very quiet and moves air quite well. Overall, it is a great looking and great functioning fan.

I LOVE light so I'm not sure if I will keep it. I plan on trying what another reviewer said and buy a converter and install 75-100 watt bulbs. I put in 60 watt LED and I think they are as bad as the included CFL's. The style and wind output is fantastic. I used to have a fan with 3 lights and 3 100 watt LED. I even removed the GLASS shades so this fan is not doing it at all light wise. i don't know what to do BC this is my 2nd fan in @3 weeks and the light is terrible. Today's fans for the most part have integrated LED in soft white and no daylight/bright white system to exchange out the soft white. Why not start with DAYLIGHT and then you can dim it if you like darker? It seems so simple a fix. You can go from bright to dark but you cannot go dim to start with to bright. Definitely not energy efficient BC I need to turn on several other lights to see in my room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fan for the price I've only had the fan for 2 weeks so can't say how long it will run flawlessly but so far it produces a nice draft and my son really likes it. Moderate difficulty to install primarily due to stuffing the controller with 5 separate wires into the mounting bracket, per the design, it's a tight fit.
