Product Overview

The patented High-Efficiency Blade System of the Home Decorators Collection 52 in. Red Windward IV saves up to 75% more energy, and moves up to 40% more airflow than standard fans while allowing for ultra-quiet, wobble-free operation. This simple, yet contemporary design has an integrated light kit with frosted opal glass bowl and includes two 13-Watt GU24 bulbs. The fan's 29 degree steeper blade pitch provides greater air movement, and features a three-speed reverse function for year-round comfort and savings. The thermostatic remote with LCD screen controls the speed of your ceiling fan (high, medium, low) and the light. The remote includes a programmable feature that allows the fan to automatically turn on and off when the room reaches a desired temperature. This Energy Star rated, Eco Option ceiling fan has less of an impact on the environment than comparable standard ceiling fans.

Unfortunately, the movers accidentally shattered the light fixture on the fan (while installing some furniture). I am wondering if the light fixture part is sold separately? If so, how much is it?

Right now the fan's light bulbs are visible without the fixture covering it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good office fan. This is a nice looking and fairly easy to install fan. It needs to have more wattage for the lights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice modern look, quiet operating and poor lighting problem solved with LED lights. After instalation I had to adjust the blades so when they move they are in ballance. That fan looks really good, so good that I decided to keep it despite the poor light it gives. I was installing other fixtures in my house - LED ceiling light from Commercial Electric which I got for around $20. Then it came an idea. I was risking braking the light for $20, so I did it. I removed the lights from the fan and replaced it with LED panel witch is almost the same size. I had to drill 2 holes in the fan and using the LED lamp srews and nuts I attached the LED panel. Works prfectly; gives much more light, heats up less, and consumes less energy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Change to a 2amp fuse - most bad reviews because of light and/or fuse issue The fan pushes a lot of air. It looks nice. Most ceiling fan light combos have poor lighting. I have bought 2 others from the same family of fans. Nobody tells you and I don't know why the company doesn't change out the fuses, but anytime you hear about a fan with remote having problems, not just this brand, it's because of the fuse. They give you a 1.5 amp fuse when they should be putting in a 2 amp fuse. A few of the phone support guys know about this while a majority don't know, but I knew about this when I purchased and Home Depot gave me 2 2amp fuse at no charge. Never had a problem with them, so I did the same with this and works great. Not the best lighting. Not sure why they all put in such low light fixtures. I heard an electrician say he would never buy a fan with remote. He said mine would die in two weeks. Its been a year for the first one, 3 months for the second one and a couple of weeks for the third one. NO problems at all with any of them and whisper quiet pushing lots of air. I would recommend these fans if you don't care so much about the light, but DO ask for a 2 amp fuse. I almost gave it a 3 because of the lighting and the company not using a 2 amp fuse from the start, but this is a great fan. Also, I've seen so many people not install the fan properly. If you have parts left over, you didn't install it correctly. Yes, that includes the seal/ ring. I don't know what to call it, but if you don't use it, don't complain if you have problems. I've seen handymen have left over parts and you ask why and they say you don't need them. Well, that's when you have problems. Install it correctly and it will work. One fan in large kitchen on a flat ceiling, one in living room on a sloped ceiling, and one in a bedroom with flat ceiling.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very poor light The only problem for me with this fan is the lightning. You can only use the bulbs that came with it and it is very dark. Although I love the fan and I not happy because it it not bright enough. It is in my living room and I have to turn another light on to be able to read. My husband thinks that it is an expensive fan with almost no lighting. He would not be happy if I asked him to take it down so I could return it and get a fan at least as bright as the one that I removed to put this one up which was nice and bright. Althiugh it is beautiful, I regret buying it.

This fan was easy to assemble once you read through the instructions. its sleek design hides all of the hardware used to hold it up and put it together so its not as intuitive of an assembly but again if you read the instructions it all makes sense and ensures the clean look we see in the pictures. The light is not super bright which makes it perfect for a bedroom. My bedroom is only about 200 sq feet so we thought 52in might be too large based on the recommendations for ceiling fan sized but it fits perfectly and could have certainly been larger.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Been a headache! We bought this fan for the price, the remote and the appearance. After a somewhat difficult installation due to the receiver not fitting easily into the mounting bracket, we were pleased. That lasted 2 days after which the light stopped working. I thought it was the receiver so I took the fan back apart and exchanged the receiver at the local store. After hooking it back up we still had no light. The manual has zero troubleshooting for the light so I started poking around and finally found a glass tube style fuse up under the cap inside of the light fixture! A 5 minute fix had the manual mentioned it! I hope the new fuse fixes it if not, I will have three days in this fan, not happy, wouldn't buy another one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Windward IV Ceiling Fan I could not modify the fan for flush-mounting, as it was advertised to accommodate. One of the 3 screws provided was not long enough to grab the base of the fan. The second screw stripped out when tightened into the fan-base. I did not bother with trying the third screw, but boxed the item up and returned it. Home Depot was cheerful when accepting the return.
