Answer:
The 18" door consists of two 9 " panels hinged together. For a 36 " opening you will need two 18" doors. Mount one on the left jamb and the other on the right jamb. The doors will meet in the middle when closed.

Add on from previous reply : The 36" bifold door would also work possible easier than the 24" bifold. Take 2 sets of the 36" bifold on either the left or right side assemble per instructions now on the opposite side jus use one of the panels of the 36" bifold door which would be 18" make it a regular door or you could hinge the three together for a trifold door that all three panels would be on a track. Answer:
You could get 5 sets of the 24" bifold which would be 2 panels 12" by 4 sets of hinges close as possible that come with the stock hardware. Then hinge together a set and half for each side which would consist of five 12" panels for each side a rota of ten 12" panels all together. The only other issue would be the track it rides in without looking at it I could possibly say notch both ends of one track Read More

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 118 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice functioning doors These doors are made of PVC, which make them an excellent choice for anywhere that might be humid. The louvers help keep areas ventilated, so I'm glad I went with this for access to my furnace in my basement. And the 3" louvers look nicer than your typical solid wood bifolds. I also didn't have a lot of space to swing a big door, so it was very convenient to be able to use two of the 18" bi-fold doors for a 36" space, meaning the doors only needed 9" of clearance to open. These doors were worth every penny. July 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PERFECT for my broom closet and looks upscale We recently purchased an older home that needed a lot of cosmetic work. I converted an extremely small pantry in my kitchen into a broom closet. The door on the closet was a bi-fold that had been painted many times and had tiny, dirty-looking slats. No amount of paint nor sanding would help that door so I ordered the new, larger slats, bi-fold door. It's absolutely gorgeous and immediately updated the look in our kitchen (which is also under renovation). It made such a great impression on our neighbors, whose homes are similar to ours, that several have asked "where did you get that door? It looks awesome". May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Looking Bi-Fold I searched the home centers looking for a 18 inch Bi-Fold and 24 inch was the smallest they carried without special order. Then I seen this door online at Home Depot, it saved my day. I already have a 18 inch opening in my bathroom for a linen closet. A Great Looking Door. The 3 inch slats are Bold and Modern looking. There's a gap for ventilation. Perfect for my need. January 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bi-fold door Door was much more awkward than we expected. Doesn't open flat and only came with one knob so very difficult to open and close :( June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice looking door I received this door and used it to replace an older door that was falling apart in the linen closet in my hall way. What I love about this door is the size. I could not find an 18" door anywhere that would fit in the opening. Color is nice and clean looking. Installation was extremely easy. Just drill in three screws on top track and two in the bottom stop. Bottom pin in adjustable, so once you get the door in the tracks, you can adjust the height. Door opens and closes with ease and fills the space perfect. Would definitely recommend this door for a hallway or closet. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fits the bill We are finishing our basement and need access to lots of panels in the wall: electrical panel, water turn-off, central vac, etc. I decided to go with the bifold doors so that they take up less room when opened. We went with the louvered doors and I absolutely love the style, allowing the enclosures breathe. They stand up to humidity, making it perfect for a basement environment. And the 18" dimensions were difficult to find to cover our electrical panel. May 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small bifold door I needed this small bifold door for a linen closet in a bathroom. It fit perfectly and is nice. The only thing is it is a plantation shutter style and doesn't match other doors in my house. Because this door is in the bathroom and not readily seen, I am going to keep it there. April 26, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not satisfied with product. Door knobs are unusuable. One of the two doors ordered wa broken. Not satisfied with product at all. March 25, 2016
