Customer Questions & Answers

what size bi fold door do I need?

my finish opening is 80.5 H x 29.5 W
Asked by: Phil
This product will not fit as it is half an inch too wide. You need a 29.5" or less door to fit in your opening.

How much gap is needed on each side?

I have a 55" closet opening. I plan to combine 2 of the 28x80 bifold doors (56") and trim down the sides to fit. Should I trim down to 55" or 54 1/2" or something else? In other words how much space is required on the sides for the doors to operate freely? Thanks
Asked by: TK
These two doors are made for an opening 56" side, so you will need to trim a total of one inch off the four panels.

I have a 29 X 81 inch opening. What size should I buy?

Asked by: Samosa
The height isn't really a problem but the width is. Unfortunately your opening either needs to be 28 or 30 inches wide. I wish I had better news for you.

Can these doors be cut to 46.5 opening. ( ordering 2 24")

Asked by: ddericks
I wouldn't recommend it. The pivot holes are drilled 1/2" in from the sides and to cut the door down you'd need to take 3/8" off all 4 sides and that will be too close to the pivot holes.

24 in. x 80 in. 6-Panel Primed Solid Wood Interior Closet Bi-fold Door is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bi-Fold Doors Not big on ordering building materials online but due to non standard size I took a shot. I was very please with the doors, the quality of the doors, and the entire ordering process. I would do it again if I was unable to locate the product in my home center store.

Home Depot was great about refunding my credit card and reordering the door. Still have not received notification that it is back in stock. Over all I would rate Home Fashion Technologies at -10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bi-fold door for laundry area These sturdy doors are solid wood and paint up beautifully. Nicer than other doors I looked at. They were too tall for my opening and it was easy to shave off a half inch at the bottom. I would buy again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just right! This bi-fold door is just what we expected. The 28" width is not easy to find. We use it as a replacement bathroom entry door. It fit our existing opening with no trimming required. We wanted the "better" side of the door showing on the opposite side when the door is closed, so I reversed the panel hinges. Otherwise installation was not difficult using the provided hardware.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Purchase Ever we purchased these doors thinking a Solid Door would be great, pre primed, ready to go right? WRONG, the primer had drip marks all over, the sanding on the door was very poor. After sanding, priming numerous times and about 5 coats of paint, we gave up and settled. Instead of putting them in the master bedroom, they went in my son's bedroom. Don't waste your money or time on these doors. Sorry to be so blunt, but you need to know not to purchase.
