My door opening is 28in wide can I still install the 28in door?

Asked by: Nicki
might be a tight fit but you can shave maybe a 1/4 inch from each side to get it to fit.

Can two sets be trimmed down to 46.5"W and 75.5"H?

Can two sets be trimmed down to 46.5"W and 75.5"H?
Asked by: MikevR
I'm sorry but they cannot. A tiny amount can be shaved off each side but an inch and a half is a lot to try to recover. I would not recommend it.

How much can I trim from the sides and top/bottom ?

The finished opening I would like to install the door in is 28" x 78". (Width range is 27-15/16" to 28--5/16" and height range is 78-1/16" to 78-1/4"). Height measurements are between finished jamb on top and carpeted floor.
Asked by: Billy
You can trim up to 1/4" each side without needing to re-drill the top and bottom pivot holes.

30 in. x 80 in. Louver/Panel Primed Solid Wood Interior Closet Bi-fold Door is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bi fold doors Good quality. Easy installation nice white color. Did need to paint knobs as they were natural wood

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent doors I bought two sets of these for a laundry area opening. I chose these over the other non-wood bifold doors available at Home Depot because I thought these would be more sturdy. Since my doorway was not a standard 80 in. height, I had to trim the bottom ends shorter a couple inches, and was easily able to do so with a circular saw. The doors slide smoothly on the upper tracks, however, one of the sets won't close completely flat compared to my 2nd set. I have to apply the slightest of force to the middle folding section in order to "flatten" it out. Other than that, I like these doors' quality for the price. I also bought different chrome doorknobs because I didn't like the white ones that came in the package. Be sure to get trim to hide the track on the top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Custom look I had to save my beautiful custom kitchen, after I changed my mind and decided not to bring the washer and dryer inside. This louver door came nicely primed, and ready to save the day. I did have to trim 1" off the bottom, and drill the bottom hole for the pivot 1" deeper, so that it would fit the cabinet opening. I also mounted the hanging track just inside the frame of the empty "appliance garage." I painted the bifold door to match my cabinets, which allowed it to blend nicely with the original design. My kitchen is now officially finished, and gorgeous, and I did it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great quality doors with some slight warping We bought a pair for my daughter's room and they went in nicely. Instructions were easy to follow and the quality of the hardware was fine. Because we were pleased with this first set, we bought another pair for my son's room. This set was a bit warped and unfortunately they don't close together evenly. I assume this has to do with how they were stored in the warehouse (laying flat, not on the side like how the ^^ THIS SIDE UP ^^ states). Hopefully they will even out over time. They were packed very nicely so don't worry about having them shipped to your home. I only wish the manufacturer would place one more piece of styrofoam (and I hate styrofaom) in the middle of the door for more support, which would have prevented the warping. If you're picky about smooth finish, you'll need to even out some rough spots with light sanding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick and Easy I'm happy with the door. Delivery was prompt. Installation instructions that came with door and those online are different, and both are minimal with poor illustrations.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mediocre at best This product was a complete disappointment. The primer is very light and the doors were not sanded. The grain had rough texture. I do not recommend this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Started coming apart almost immediately These doors immediately started pulling apart, like they weren't glued together by the manufacturer. I had to drill and screw them together myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Right Door The bi-fold door was the right size for the closet opening I had. I had searched a long time before I came across this at Home Depot. I decided to pick it up at my local store in case there were any problems. If I had known how well they packaged the door I would have had it sent to my house. Anyway, it took me about 30 - 45 minutes to install.(I have installed bi-fold doors before.) Had to paint it with a finishing coat of paint since the one I got was only prime coated, but it didn't take me long to do it. Very pleased with the outcome!
