CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This product started to peel and bubble after only 2 weeks Initially liked the product, but after 2 weeks it started bubbling and peeling. I would not recommend purchasing this product April 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very good quality, very little waste. this flooring was installed over a concrete pad, using a high quality(expensive) adhisive. the individual boards were all straight and well finished. the random lengths made it easier to work with a few spots where the concrete was cracked or not quite level. they also made it possible to minimize waste. in the 300+ sq feet installed, only 6 boards needed to be trimmed more than 3 inches. i would use this flooring again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product with minimal waste Finished my first of three rooms. The product has very tight tolerances and a good selection of random lengths, with some over 6 feet long. Good rich color. Needed very little wedging to make it tight. Little tongue splitting with 2 inch power nails. Only 2 rejected boards due to blemishes. No installed boards had to be removed due to tongue breakage. October 16, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Flooring I was impressed with the quality of this flooring. No blemishes in the finish and nice lengths with a few being 6'. The color is a perfect deep, dark cherry and consistent throughout. I would definitely recommend this flooring if you want an elegant looking floor. January 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This is a stained product, not natural, and the color is terrible. Buyer beware. The color of this product is terrible. It is not at all like a natural Brazilian cherry. Another reviewer described it as a "port wine" color. My 10 y.o. daughter described it as purple. I would call it a mix of brown stain and red barn paint. The color does not at all match the display in the store. After all the hassle of special ordering, hauling the product home, and etc., we had to haul it back and return it. To HD's credit, they were very curteous and provided us with a full refund. September 12, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional product! I am totally satisfied with this floor. Great quality - boards were straight and true, no broken or flawed tongues. Laid over 500 square feet - it is gorgeous. E-mailed their tech support with an installation question, they responded within a day. I am loving the floor. I have laid a variety of wood flooring, different brands and types - this was my favorite. March 30, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Get a sample before you buy it. For starters we already had about 700 sq ft of Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba) that I put down about 10 years ago. It has aged very well and it darkened quite a bit over the years which is normal with this species of wood. We ordered this new wood because we wanted to continue the hallway down to the bedrooms with wood and remove the carpeting. Unfortunately there were no samples in the store so we essentially bought it sight unseen. When the boxes came in several weeks later, I got them home and immediately noticed the finish was very dark and red, almost like a port wine color with a very glossy surface. Needless to say it did not match the existing flooring, it was several shades darker and a completely different color as well. If you were to flip it over you would see that the unfinished boards were all over the place from lights to darks and quite a few boards that were streaked (sapwood) and also had insect holes that went from the back to the front. Honestly the quality of this particular batch wasn't equal to what I put down many years ago. There are also quite a few short boards in the box, unlike the original flooring which was all about 3 feet long. I only opened one of the 19 boxes since the stuff is going back to the store to be exchanged or returned. February 25, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't even unload the boxes from the truck I purchased Brazilian Cherry 3/4", 3 1/2" wide hardwood from HD about 7 years ago for my living room. We loved it and wanted to continue it into our kitchen area as part of a kitchen reno. HD no longer carries the same wood we purchased in the past, this is the only 'Brazilian Cherry' they carry. Took a chance and ordered it knowing I could return it if it didn't match. Dragged home 29 boxes of it, only unloaded 1 to see what it looked like, took it all back 10 minutes later. I'm sure this is a great product if you are not looking to match real Brazilian Cherry and wear isn't a huge issue. The wood I received looked like it had a stain that made it dark, almost wine colored and the boards were finished on all sides. Brazilian Cherry typically is not stained or finished on the underside. One of the tongues had a nick taken out and the wood appeared to be a much lighter color than Brazilian Cherry typically is, more like a maple. We specifically wanted the Brazilian with a clear finish as we have dogs and it can stand up to the traffic. BC usually starts off as a lighter wood and darkens over time, it looks like it was stained to be what BC would look like after a few years. Also, if you plan to expand your wood floor into another room, do your homework on the Brazilian Cherry and know what is out there. I'm sure this material won't match any other B.C. out there and if it gets discontinued you'll never match this product for sure. We did find actual B.C. samples at Lowes, Lumber Liquidators and our local flooring store. Ended up getting it through Lumber Liquidators for the same price as HD. February 4, 2014
