Answer:
Yes. We installed ours directly to wood subfloor with just craft paper as underlayment. Since our experience has demonstrated that this product is in fact water proof (the manufacturer does not make this claim), I am confident you could install this on a concrete slab with a vapor barrier and using glue.

Answer:
The manufacturer recommends a cleat nail, but this product is so hard we had a difficult time to get the recommended size cleat nail to penetrate the product without splitting it. We ended up using a 6 gauge finish nailer and it worked great.

Answer:
This product can be installed with "full spread glue" application over concrete. It is necessary to complete accurate moisture testing prior to installation and confirm that the moisture reading falls within the requirements. When installing over concrete a moisture barrier is required. You could use "seal" the concrete and/or use a adhesive that has moisture blocking properties.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazingly Durable This stuff is amazing! We love the light color, that is what first drew our attention. I liked the amazing durability. I tried my best to scratch the store sample and I could not. Even after I scratched the surface with a screwdriver, because it is solid bamboo, the scratch just faded to the point that it was not noticeable. The only challenge was the installation. We did not want to go through the expense or toxicity of glue, we wanted our flooring nailed. Our first installer could not figure out how to do it. His fancy nail gun would either split the flooring, or the nail would not go through. We later found a handyman (not a flooring specialist) who simply used a cordless finish nailer to nail the floors down. It worked great. The floors look great and are solid. Here is what is even more amazing. Our air conditioner drain line clogged and the cut out switch failed so the drip pan overflowed, went through a ceiling and ended up on this flooring. The flooring was submerged in standing water. No problem. We simply cleaned up the water and the flooring looked like new. No swelling, no noticeable discoloration. This is an amazingly durable product that looks great. The manufacturer was also really helpful and supportive. While we used a smaller nail than recommended on the instructions, we ended up with exceptional results. I highly recommend it. January 12, 2016
