Rated 4 out of 5Â by Alex32940 HD Exotic bamboo tigerwood HL 401
We purchased 1500 sf of this bamboo Tigerwood for a new custom home we built in Florida.
We and everyone who has seen the floors installed love the very rich warm color.
We installed it on all the main first floor common areas including the kitchen.
We also had 300 sf installed in the 12' high tray ceilings.
Its very easy to install since its has a click feature. Installation done by professional flooring company. Very little if any waste. Color and planks 100% consistent. Glue is the largest cost factor besides the wood. Glue is expensive and we used 10 buckets for 1200 sf. It covers about 30-35 sf per 4 gallon bucket. Keep this in mind, glues dont cover what the manufacturer says. Its also very expensive, about $145.00/ bucket.
When you walk its soundless unless you have dress shoes.
Only downside so far is that we have a breakfast nook with chairs on casters. I weigh 220 lbs and the casters leave slight but visible track marks. Its a tad bothersome but live and learn. Its not as hard as other woods.
The value of the wood vs the price is fantastic.
Would definitely recommend. Plus Depot stands behind the product with no hassles. other retailers may not.

The description of this product is very deceptive. It is actually more like a laminate product than a bamboo hardwood. In the fact that the finish "ply" is a picture of tigerwood on top of a bamboo backer board (instead of MDF on laminates). First major con: I thought I was getting actual hardwood, and I got a picture of it instead.
The concept of a bamboo backer is a good one, except this specific product was constructed very poorly. The tongue and groove edges literally flake off in spots as you take it out of the box... I could only imagine how it would hold up with body-weight, pets, children, drops, etc. Next, you begin installation and notice gaps in the seams, warped boards, and just an overall poor product.
The single "Pro" I have is regarding the appearance. The particular picture the manufacturer chose for this finish ply is visually stunning, if you are OK with the idea of a laminate finish. In fact, we brought a board to some of our local flooring suppliers to compare the finish to other products. They all laughed at the quality of the board, but had nothing that gave the same look. Even real tigerwood is significantly lighter in color (even after darkening over time), and has less character/striping.
Bottom line: If there were a solid or engineered product that had the same finish (or very similar) as this floor, I'd purchase it immediately. Instead, I'm planning to purchase an engineered product for a different manufacturer that will look good, but not exactly what we were going for. I'd rather have a good looking product that will last a lifetime (or at least 20+ years) than lay a product that looks amazing but falls apart and is not true.
Sorry Home Depot... You're service is excellent, but I have to return this Home Legends floor. I'd recommend demanding better quality from the brands you stock/sell in your stores.

I have my own flooring business and have recently installed this product in a customers home. To start off, the description that Home Depot has this labled under is misleading. Yes, it is a solid bamboo floor......BUT....it is a veneer over top of the solid bamboo floor that tries to look like Tigerwood. I've installed a solid Tigerwood in a multi-million dollar home in the town I live in, 5500 sq.ft. of it actually & the veneer looks like it is an aged Tigerwood floor. Me personally, I wouldn't put this in my home. I'm not too big of a fan of bamboo anyway, but bamboo with a fake looking/veneer Tigerwood on top, most definitely not. The only thing I have to say good about this product is that it goes together well. My employees and I installed about 700 sq.ft. of this in about 5 hours.

from the discription i also thought it was a solid bamboo flooring. i bought 1200 sf of it. the first cut i made the edges were jagged and it wasnt so solid. like others said it was a veneer face and after making a cut i could take my fingernail and scrape off the picture with my nail. very disappointed.

I just recently had this bamboo flooring installed on the first floor level of my home and they look great (living room, kitcken, dining room). They have more of a cherry color in person. A little darker than the picture, but very beautiful nonetheless.
