• For lightly soiled area, clean with distilled water.
• For moderately soiled area, use a mild solution of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. Isopropyl alcohol is commonly referred to as rubbing alcohol and is sold in 50% to 70% concentrations. This product should be diluted by mixing one part alcohol and 2 parts distilled water.
• For tougher spots, use a higher concentration of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water.
• For extreme cases, a solution of nail polish remover and distilled water can be used.

Answer:
why? it defeats the purpose of the floating floor. this way the floor expands and contracts without popping up and looking dreadful. just be sure you use the guidance for the distance from the walls and that you keep the wood inside at least 24hours to come to tempreture before installing.

You would want to use a moisture cured, urethane-based floring adhesive. A good example is Roberts brand R1509 or R1530 adhesives. You would also want to make sure that your concrete is within the 3/16" per 10 linear feet level tolerance, that any significant cracks are patched up, and that the concrete has been tested for, and is under the recommended level of water vapor output. Answer:
Yes; this flooring is designed to be floated over a solid substrate. However, there is an additional step needed to successfully float the flooring over concrete. You will need to install a 6-mil polyethylene film over the concrete before the flooring could be floated over it with its warranty intact.

While it may be manufactured in China (sadly, like everything) the wood may be from Canada being birch. Please advise.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome look, easy install These floors make our home look beautiful! I love the color, dark, but with a lot of light undertones. The install process was beyond easy- my 3-year old son was literally clipping them together himself. We have dropped some heavy things on the floors already (including a giant crowbar whoops!) but they actually are holding up. We already put a little scratch in the floor, but because of the hand scraped look, you can't even tell it wasn't already part of the floor! We love them. May 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great deal! I was able to purchase this flooring at a discounted price with the deal of the day. There were only a couple pieces out of 30 boxes with the click lock edge damaged but were still usable. It clicks together easily and my husband installed about 400 sq ft in one day by himself. This flooring is beautiful and looks more expensive than it is. Highly recommended! April 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by looks great... for the first five minutes! we spent many hours painstakingly installing 1,000 SF of this flooring in our home. we did not use transition pieces in the doorways because we wanted a seamless look. it was a lot of work, but it was worth it. it looked beautiful. for about a couple of months. we do have a large dog, and we expected to get scratches on the surface, and we did, but the planks are chipping on the edges in all of the areas we walk in the most. can you say disappointing and heartbreaking?! we LOVE the look of these floors, the price was right, we installed them properly, but the quality of the product is just NOT GOOD. i can barely bear to look at them, because it makes me sick that we wasted our hard earned money. we should have gone with laminate. the display at the store says a hardness rating of 5, despite this website listing giving it a 2. a very expensive lesson learned on this product. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love, love, love this flooring! This was a wonderful flooring choice. It looks so rich and so beautiful in my living and dining room areas! It's easy to maintain too. So glad I ordered it. The color is also perfect. Thanks Home Fepit! December 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, looks and feels high quality Just installed these in the master bedroom, they look awesome. Very easy to install, although the size of the pieces is not very consistent. I bought 10 cases, and only two of them included the 1/4 and 3/4 pieces (along with the full pieces). The other 8 had half pieces with the full planks. In order to properly stagger them, I had to cut many of the 1/4 and 3/4 pieces at the beginning of the rows. Minor inconvenience, but something to be aware of. We love how they look and feel, great buy. January 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It looks good and they snapped in without any problems. I purchased as one of the "special buy of the day" and got a great deal. The product is very sturdy; I only noted 2 or 3 damaged pieces (minor) and I was able to install with only causing minor damages to 3 or 4 more pieces. It looks great in my study. April 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Click and lock hardwood I might not have been able to afford hardwood but this made the purchase possible. The quality is amazing April 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very happy we were looking for this type of flooring for awhile. it was unfortunate that I found the sample in the store, but it is only a special order item. added a delay, but the delivery was very smooth and they made an appointment with a four hour window. all went we.. with the pallet of wood that we ordered placed very close to the house for ease of unloading March 28, 2013
