Customer Questions & Answers

How thick is the veneer?

Asked by: cristina
Almost whole body is veneer which is very expandable and easily misshapen. Top is less than one millimeter means that it will be dented when you drop your pan. If you don't believe how bad this flooring is, you are very welcome to come to my house and look at it yourself.

i was told that this product cannot be installed in florida over concrete subfloor??? is this true

Asked by: tank
Dear customer, you can installed engineered wood in any region. All wood products are affected by environmental conditions especially prefinished materials. Acclimate the new flooring in the areas to be installed to normal lived-in conditions while in the boxes. If products are protected in plastic open the ends of the boxes. Length of time is not the determining factor. The goal is to reach an equilibrium or moisture balance between the new flooring with its surroundings before installation. This balance could be achieved in as little as 1 to 5 days, or longer for some exotic species. For best performance, condition the flooring to consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% – 50%. Very dry or humid regions usually require extended conditioning. Recommended acclimation levels maintained even after the installation will minimize board movement, excessive squeaks and gaps. Proper jobsite conditions, acclimation and moisture testing the subfloor and new flooring and all work together for the success of the installation. This is the responsibility of those overseeing the project. Minimum acclimation time is 72 hours, but doesn't hurt to have it acclimate longer.

Customer Reviews

Hand Scraped Fremont Walnut 1/2 in. T x 5 in. W x Varying Length Engineered Hardwood Flooring (26.25 sq. ft. / case) is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst floor ever... I've had this flooring almost a month. Engineered hardwood flooring was supposed to be the best for the humidity and this one is the worst. We spilled the water once and all glaze were peeled from the main body in couple hours. Also, glazed top is very easy to be chipped, you don't even have to try so hard. When I used vacuum cleaner, the flooring was scratched by rotating brush of vacuum cleaner, which I have never seen that before. The name of the product said that it was engineered hardwood. When I saw the layers of it, it looked like laminate to me. Too expensive for the laminate or too bad quality for the hardwood, I would say! It is very slippery like an ice rank, even though it is not shiny at all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very pretty, but not practical I was really excited about these floors because I thought getting engineered wood with this thickness would ensure they last a long time. While the color is beautiful, the quality is poor. They scratch and dent easily. It is to the point where I am scared if anything drops on them or even when my dog runs on them. It has only been 2 years, but I am already noticing marks. Overall, I would recommend a more durable material.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the floor Would give 5 starts but packaging is weak. Had some damage to a couple boxes. Home Depot offered to replace, but I had to purchase replacement before return and had to pay shipping. Was able to finish project with waste purchased. Looks perfect.
