Existing laminate is not an acceptable substrate. Laminate should be removed before nailing solid bamboo down.

Answer:
This product, the HL603, would not have a warranty if installed below grade. My recommendation would be for you to look into the HL11H, which is a 3/8" engineered click bamboo walnut, since this model number would maintain its warranty below grade.

Hello Katie and thank you for your question.
Katie this product its only recommended to be installed on or above grade.

If you wish to install a product bellow grade with the appearance of solid hardwood i would recommend looking into engineered hardwood flooring. As far as the subfloor goes you may not even need one...easy way to check this is to tape a piece of clear plastic onto the floor for 24hrs and watch for the signs of condensation. If you dont have any then obviously you wont have any affecting your flooring. If you do on the other hand than one way to prep the floor is to lay a vapor barrier over the floor extending 6" on the the walls.
Hope this helps,
George

Answer:
Our solid bamboo products can only be installed over three different kinds of subfloors: plywood, solid hardwood, and concrete. It must be nailed into the plywood and solid hardwood subfloors and glued onto concrete. Any other installation method, on any other surface, would put the warranty at risk.

Hello Radar and thank you for your question.
The short answer is no. The manufacturer recommends that you do not glue the flooring over a cork pad.
The manufacturer does recommend using the Roberts 1530 adhesive which has sound dampening characteristics that will reduce ambient room noise as well as reduce the sound of impact (people walking on the floor). This may eliminate the need for the cork Read More

Answer:
Unless you fill in the gap with more tile, you will have to remove the tile floor to hopefully reveal a consistent subfloor underneath it. The flooring cannot be installed over a gap.
