In my experience the color will change slightly, we bought some a year apart and the first lot was noticeably lighter. If you don't lay it you can mix the cases up but personally I would buy it all in one go.

Answer:
Kevin, if you are just buying it twice and not installing it in two different times you should be alright. Always remember to mix up your planks from all your boxes as you lay them down. This way the color variation will blend in fine. I put this same floor down over a week ago, I think you are really going to like it. The boards have some nice grain to them. Good luck

I bought a box to see how it will look. I noticed the pieces have some waviness. There are two raised areas in long direction of each board. Is this intended?

Answer:
Rocco, as long as you use a good moisture barrier first and then your underlayment before installing your floor. Remember to let the 6 mil barrier go up the sides of your wall, you can trim it after the floor is down and the baseboard trim will go over it and hide it. Good luck.

Answer:
A underlayment designed for "floating" engineered flooring is recommended. Underlayment helps to smooth minor subfloor imperfections and does reduce noise. Installing without underlayment typically results in a "hollow" sounding floor. Listed below are some names of some underlayments sold at homedepot.com:
Black Jack,
Floor Muffler,
Silent Step,
Air Quard,
Soft Stride,
ThermoQuiet.

Hand Scraped Maple Sedona 3/8 in.Thick x 3-1/2 in.Wide x 35-1/2 in. Length Click Lock Hardwood Flooring (20.71 sq.ft/cs) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 78.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT buy. Very poor quality. Yes, this is engineered wood, so I didn't expect it to be the best quality. However, this is the worst flooring product I've ever experienced. Within months of installation, the "plastic" veneer finish starting bubbling and peeling in sections. The finish started hazing and makes the flooring look dull. It chips and scratches extremely easily. Unless you live in museum-like home with little to no foot traffic, this flooring will wear down very easily. It's very impractical. Their 55 year warranty means nothing. The customer service rep wouldn't help me when I called to discuss my situation. Worst flooring I've ever owned and will not buy any other product from this manufacturer in the future.

Thick board . I needed to replace some water damaged boards, but not the whole floor. It was necessary to come up with a solution to install the thinner board without a drop showing. The change the company made was very inconvenient.

However, I would have liked to see a few more "character" pieces, such as those that had knots or striations. I can see some areas where the dog has scratched the flooring. Overall, it is a really beautiful addition to our home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice warm tones to it. Delivery was on time and delivered in a professional manner. The Sedona Maple has a nice warm tone to it. It went down very nice and there was little waste. Keep in mind each box comes with six half planks about 17 inches long. We used them as much as possible to break up the joints going across the floor. I had 270 sq ft to install, the math said 13 boxes would be enough, I got 14 boxes to be sure and had only 2 long planks left. There was not much waste out at the saw and there was about 18 half planks left. Do yourself a favor and get an extra box, you can always return it. I put down a high grade underlayment and the floor feels nice under foot. The planks have some beautiful grain in them too. Hope this helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to install and looks fantastic This was my first install of click-lock flooring. It couldn't have been easier and the results were really amazing. The toughest part was getting the door jam cuts done but even that wasn't too bad after I'd done a few. I started with a 350Sf room and liked it so much I did another 200sf family room with the same product. Make sure you have a rubber mallet, tap bar and pull bar that you can buy at HD. They are a must. Also a good miter box is a must have. Once you get in the rhythm of putting the flooring down it just flies. I did both rooms in less than 4 days including tearing out the old flooring and trim prep and re-trimming. The best part is all the raves I hear from friends and family that see the floor. The quality of the wood and finish is really something. Even with 2 kids and 2 big dogs the finish has held up really well (3 months and counting)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rich Fairly easy to install. Must follow directions because this floor floats and you do not want to get it too close to the wall or door. We did and had to remove and reinstall. We used the red air guard underlayment and the floor is soft and quiet. Our friends said the floor looks "rich". We bought 65 cases and have installed most of it.
