How much of this question is actually bamboo?

We are concerned about the bamboo on top layer expanding/contracting differently than the engineered hardwood making up the majority of the product. Is this an issue/potential problem? We have also been advised to not use bamboo due to our business may have some fluctuating heat/humidity. If there is not really any bamboo in this product or very little it seems like it would work. Please offer any advice. Thanks.

This product is an engineered bamboo. The core of this product is HDF (high density fiberboard); the visible layer is thin veneer of bamboo. Acclimate the product in the environment that it will be expected to perform in (the longer the better; minimum 72 hours). Acclimation temperature range is 60°F-80°F and relative humidity (RH) of 35%-55%. Conditions in which the floor was acclimated should be maintained continuously thereafter. Acclimation time varies depending on geographical area, interior climate control and time of the year. It is best if the product is acclimated out of the box and plastic wrap.

Hand Scraped Strand Woven Walnut 3/8 in. Thick x 5 in. Wide x 36 in. Length Click Lock Bamboo Flooring (25 sq. ft./case) is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good looking and tough finish I just installed 1100 sq. ft. and the flooring looks great. I had a few pieces that were warped, but overall, the material was in excellent condition. I used the self adhesive rolled underlayment and that helped the job go quickly. The joints click together easily and fit well. Be sure that this texture is what you want before you order. I tried to include a photo showing the wavy surface. The hand rubbed surface is not super smooth and glossy, but has a slight ripple to it and is more of a satin finish. I did not want the glassy smooth surface, so this fit my choice well. Be sure you have a SHARP cut-off saw because the bamboo is very hard and will splinter if you blade is dull. I ordered extra for waste and the possibility of warp-age, but I as it ends up, I have 5 unopened boxes to return to Home Depot and they are taking it with no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful hand scrapped, engineered bamboo flooring I really love the look of this flooring. Because it's a floating floor, it was easy enough to put down and the installation went faster than expected. Friends did the intalation for me and only did one bedroom to start with because I'm not sure of the quality of this product and how well it will hold up, so I'm waiting to see if I'll put it in the other two bedrooms. It does creek a little in a few spots, but that might be the difference between a solid glued down floor and a floating floor. It does dent a little and probably scratch, but with the light color and the hand scraped look, it's not noticable. I've been very careful because I've never had wood floors before and they are beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Honey Color. Light and airy Delivery was as promised. No damaged cartons. Installation went well. I was concerned about the short (36") boards but not an issue. It looks great. Very pleased with the hand scraped look and feel. The 5" width is nice. Color and pattern was uniform. Did not have to mix boxes. Did family room, kitchen, breakfast area and foyer. They all flow together. About 500 square ft. All on a slab.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great and wife is happy! We started looking for flooring and was really wanting solid bamboo but was not able to find it in hand scraped so we came back to this with bamboo on MDF. We installed over ceramic tile in the kitchen and laundry room area and I was concerned about how this would hold up to water spills. I soaked a sample for 4 hours and then let it dry out and there was no visible sign of damage so I think unless there was a major leak that went undectected this floor should be good. Easy to install, quality of pieces was very good, not any damage pieces in 500 sq ft.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Appearance, Hard to Keep Up The floor is beautiful and we love the way it looks. We installed it in the bathroom, which was a mistake. Every water drop shows and a casual wipe causes a streak on the floor. To remain beautiful, every bit of water needs to be buffed off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money on Home Legend I see that Home Depot does not sell the exact product I have any more, but this is fairly close. My flooring went down easily and looked beautiful for about 6 weeks before it started to pop in several places where it is in a constant state of expansion causing warped boards. Attempted several times to contact Home Legend and they never replied to me once directly. The Home Depot helped push a warranty claim since it was supposed to have a 55 year warranty. Well, the so called "independent" inspector was actually a local flooring contractor so I'm sure right away I was seen as a cheapskate that was looking to save a buck and not hire their services. Needless to say, my claim was denied so I'm stuck with a floor that won't stop growing and warping, is now blistering for no apparent reason, and scratches if I look at it hard enough. I would not recommend Home Legend to my worst enemy and if I were the Home Depot, I would promptly stop selling their products. I really hope anyone considering purchasing any Home Legend flooring products see this review and decide carefully.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I want a refund The floors looked great for about 6 months, as soon as it got cold out the floors started to warp and there is some bubbling. I usually keep the house temp at 68 degees, in the summer it gets a bit warmer, but usually stays about 72-75. I installed these floors on 2 different surfaces (concrete and wood) both had a very good underlayment and were installed professionally. I am going to try to get my money back but I really doubt home legends or home depot will help me on it. Over all the floors look nice when installed, but I am at about 9 months since t
