Answer:
Existing home should have a consistent room temperature of 60°F-80°F and relative humidity (RH) of 35%-55%. Continual deviation from these conditions will affect the dimensions of flooring, especially bamboo. During heating season, humidity may be much lower than the acceptable range.

If we are doing the 3/8" floating floor, do we need to buy any type of barrier to put down first? We are installing it over the concrete slab throughout the entire house, except entry & bathrooms.

Hey alligsu,
If you decide to float this floor, then I'd recommend to use a moisture barrier that doubles as an underlayment. One that we carry in our stores, and the best one sold there for this purpose, is linked below.

If you decide to glue this down (which is another way to install it instead of floating it), then you would use a urethane-based adhesive. If done properly, the glue will act as a moisture barrier in and of itself.

Answer:
The 3/8 inch thick locking version of this flooring is designed to float. The 1/2 inch tongue and groove version is designed to glue and /or nail. I would not use the 3/8 floating in areas that see heavy traffic or moisture like kitchens, entry-ways or bathrooms.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your money on Home Legend I see that Home Depot does not sell the exact product I have any more, but this is fairly close. My flooring went down easily and looked beautiful for about 6 weeks before it started to pop in several places where it is in a constant state of expansion causing warped boards. Attempted several times to contact Home Legend and they never replied to me once directly. The Home Depot helped push a warranty claim since it was supposed to have a 55 year warranty. Well, the so called "independent" inspector was actually a local flooring contractor so I'm sure right away I was seen as a cheapskate that was looking to save a buck and not hire their services. Needless to say, my claim was denied so I'm stuck with a floor that won't stop growing and warping, is now blistering for no apparent reason, and scratches if I look at it hard enough. I would not recommend Home Legend to my worst enemy and if I were the Home Depot, I would promptly stop selling their products. I really hope anyone considering purchasing any Home Legend flooring products see this review and decide carefully. January 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I want a refund The floors looked great for about 6 months, as soon as it got cold out the floors started to warp and there is some bubbling. I usually keep the house temp at 68 degees, in the summer it gets a bit warmer, but usually stays about 72-75. I installed these floors on 2 different surfaces (concrete and wood) both had a very good underlayment and were installed professionally. I am going to try to get my money back but I really doubt home legends or home depot will help me on it. Over all the floors look nice when installed, but I am at about 9 months since t January 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great and wife is happy! We started looking for flooring and was really wanting solid bamboo but was not able to find it in hand scraped so we came back to this with bamboo on MDF. We installed over ceramic tile in the kitchen and laundry room area and I was concerned about how this would hold up to water spills. I soaked a sample for 4 hours and then let it dry out and there was no visible sign of damage so I think unless there was a major leak that went undectected this floor should be good. Easy to install, quality of pieces was very good, not any damage pieces in 500 sq ft. February 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hard as nails Bought this flooring after laying down the High Gloss Gunstock oak in the living room. I needed something that would stand up to an office chair rolling on it. This will hold up with no marks. Real Hard rated 5. July 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Appearance, Hard to Keep Up The floor is beautiful and we love the way it looks. We installed it in the bathroom, which was a mistake. Every water drop shows and a casual wipe causes a streak on the floor. To remain beautiful, every bit of water needs to be buffed off. February 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for bedrooms Nice looking floor. Easy to cut with table saw. Great for low to medium traffic areas that are normally free of spills and moisture. Shows dust and footprints. June 25, 2013
