Answer:
No. This is not meant to be installed directly over plywood. For over plywood sub-floor, its best to install real, red oak, unfinished hardwood planks with a hardwood nail gun.

I had to buy an under layment material to go over plywood subfloor in my house. It prevents creaking sounds as you are walking on the floor. I got the red layment material, which is moisture resistant.

While an underlayment is not required, an foam underlayment will enhance the finished product. Foam underlayment has sound deadening properties and also can assist with minor subfloor imperfections.

I have been using the Bruce Spray with terry cloth mop. Tried Bona floor cleaner too. After a while I have a film on the floor that dulls the floor and hard to get rid of. If I rub the film with a dry soft cloth, it removes the film. I have over a thousand sq feet and am adding another room. Need to find an easy answer.

You need to get the Bona "Stone, Tile, and Laminate Floor Cleaner" product. This is the one that I always use. The floor installer that I spoke to also recommended it.
You can always call Bona customer service, they were very nice and polite and guided us the right way whenever we had an issue with our laminate wooden floor. Good luck !

For moderately soiled area, we recommend using a mild solution of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. Isopropyl alcohol is commonly referred to as rubbing alcohol and sold in 50% to 70% concentrations. This product should be diluted by mixing one part alcohol and 2 parts distilled water.
Apply the cleaning solution for the soiled area to the cleaning cloth / mop. Do NOT apply directly to the floor. For best results, clean floor in the same direction of the planks. When the cleaning cloth / mop become soiled, rinse or replace it with a clean one. Following up with a clean, dry cloth will remove residual streak marks and spots.

The "wood" part that gives the look of the floor is only a few mm thick. Sanding will most likely ruin the floor and definitely remove the gloss.

This product is factory finished with UV cured polyurethane. If you choose to apply another finish to the product, it would be necessary to choose one compatible with the factory finish. Choosing to recoat the product would void any manufacture warranty on the wear layer of the product.

Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Please read the reviews before you buy this flooring I wish i would have read all these reviews before i bought this flooring. When we installed it it was beautiful. But if you have kids, pets or a lot of activity in your house this is not for you. Unless you can completely cover your floor with rugs. Every single little mark shows up. Once it is scratched there is nothing you can do about it and with it being high gloss it shows up that much more. September 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Home Legend Santos Mahogany Absolutely horrendous. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this rubbish floor. It chips, scratches, warps and generally falls apart. We are 2 older people, no children, no pets and one year on we need to replace the floor. Home Depot consistently refuse to do anything about it. I wouldn't even give it one star but I have no choice. Terrible Terrible product. August 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Potha Liked very much. Easier to lay down because the cut and growing was cleaner than many other brands that I have seen. August 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely Poor Quality Flooring Flooring looked great in the box but once I installed it, it could be scratched by even the slightest sneaker step or speck of dirt that has been walked over or swepted over. We placed expensive tabs under all of the furniture but still there are millions of scratches from each time a chair is pulled out and sat in. In fact, in just the few months we have owned the flooring it now looks worn out and dingy from massive scratching. This finish (High Gloss) also shows every small speck of dirt and by the third day after you clean it will look very very dusty. We have to use three cleaning methods to fully clean it (small light vacuum, damp mopping with special spray and then dry mopping/polishing) and it needs to be done every 3 days at least. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Meant for a room with little to no traffic. After first installing, these floors were beautiful and I absolutely loved them. I had them installed in my living room, hallway, and all 3 bedrooms. I have two kids and two dogs biggest being 72lbs, and these floors will scratch and dent at the drop of a hat. The bedrooms are still in good condition but the living room is covered with scratches/dents. As far as cleaning goes they show absolutely every dust particle. I have tried many cleaners, dust mops, and steamers and I have yet to find a cleaner to get them clean and glossy like they were when first installed. March 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just Installed Not sure about Quality or Value as I just finished the install 3 days ago, but was relatively easy and looks good. December 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great floor for the money I have had this floor in my home now for 4 years. While it does scratch easily, all floors scratch. You do notice it more due to the high gloss, but I still think it looks great and can be refinished at some point if it gets too bad.Put something under furniture if you are moving it, I put felt pads underneath all mine and its been fine. You do have to clean it more, due to the high gloss, but it is in my kitchen, dining room, entryway and living room. I have had no problems whatsoever with water damage and have a child who spills drinks on a regular basis. I have been using a shark steam cleaner on the floor, no problems yet. It was extremely easy to install. I installed 1000 sq. ft. of this myself( single woman) and don't consider myself a pro AT ALL. I would recommend this floor to anyone, I think it has been a good value and everyone comments on how nice it looks. The photo shows the floor at 4 yrs. old. July 28, 2013
