One box will do about 24 square feet. Buy a bit extra though because you will be cutting some to fit (staggering joints) There are also 24 to a pallet....We bought a pallet, had them load it with a forklift...then returned the 4 unused boxes.

It is T and G....but it is not a lock together system. It must be nailed to a wooden subfloor...or if over a slab, then you need to glue the joints together.

Answer:
The diference between laminate and bamboo is this:
Laminate has a desined wood layer on top off other wood.
Bamboo is solid through and through.
Bamboo requires nailing, not just the click and lock or glue
Durability is equal to that of a solid oak flooring in my opinion.

Yes, partly... It is a tongue and groove material, but it is not a floating flore and must be secured to the subfloor either by a mastic or naildown process. I laid mine directly to cement, which might have caused a plethora of problems like moisture absorbancy, buckeling, and discoloration. Unlike the floating floor laminates that go down on a moisture barrier, either a moisture barrier should be put down under a plyboard, or similar material, subfloor to which the bamboo can then be nailed, or I used a Bostick mastic directly to the cement. It was called Ultraset One Step and acted s a float for the cement floor, created a moisture barrier, a sound barrier, and held the bamboo product in place. It must be remembered that since the color toast is a carbonized color process, the carbonization does make the material much softer than the uncolored bamboo, and thus the toast color shows imprints of heavy or dropped objects. It's just the black thick paper used on all wood flooring. Also, you can consider putting some wood flooring cushion sold in most of the home depot or wood flooring merchants to reduce the noise in the basement.

The Bad: The planks vary in color SIGNIFICANTLY! Some planks are lighter than the picture here on the website, other planks are chocolate brown! If I had known that before purchase, I would have gotten something else. If you randomly mix plank colors during install though, it still looks good. The WORST: These planks are WAY TO EASY TO SCRATCH! If a fork is dropped and slides across the floor....SCRATCH! If you put a laundry basket down on it and accidentally hit it with your foot so it slides...SCRATCH! Vacuum cleaner wheels don't roll so well...SCRATCH!! Worser: Also, they are WAY TO EASY TO DENT! Drop ANYTHING with any weight higher than your knee...DENT!

Pros: Value/Price - Good Value especially since I was able to get it on sale at 20% off Free shipping to your local Home Depot Store, this I really appreciated Floor can be nailed down, I wanted to avoid the glue method Gorgeous, very attractive flooring option, wife loves the look! Easy to clean and keep clean, really like the low gloss finish Can be purchased from Home Depot (on line only) a respected and trusted retailer Flooring I accepted in my two shipments were of high quality with no major defects Manufacturer installation instructions are useful and helpful for a do it yourself-er Very easy to install even for a first time do it yourself-er 5/8 " solid bamboo boards, very substantial flooring that should last Cons: Only been installed about a month so I do not know how the surface will tolerate every day wear and tear. It does seem to scratch easily. Can only be purchased on-line and not in the store. However, I did get free shipping to the store. If you need customer support, the on-line division of customer support and your local store customer service is NOT seamless. My first order process was perfect and every detail was as expected. The second order however was received "with exceptions" meaning that several boxes of flooring was severely damaged in shipment. Been over a month and still do not have this issue resolved. Our local HD customer service department has been great! However, they rely the "vendor" to resolve this and the vendor simply has not responded satisfactorily! Also, local store management refused to discuss this with us on one occasion and a second manager did call us and promised to follow up, nope, havn't heard a word in nearly two weeks. That's all for my personal rant, just know that if you do have problems with your shipment, you experience COULD be similar to ours. I have laid about 700 sq feet of flooring and am very satisfied with the quality of the product and I DO plan to buy another 300 sq feet or so hoping we have no shipping issues! In summary, I give the product and process 4 stars, would be five stars if I did not have the damaged shipment problem or if HD had a seamless customer service process between on-line orders and in-store purchases. . . Nice product, mostly as expected except where noted.
