Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful fit but wish it was solid wood instead of layers It is beautiful and will match my wood floor perfectly, but I had to special order it so I did not physically get to see it until it arrived. When it did I was surprised to find out that it was not solid hardwood like my flooring was, but what looks like a 3 layer engineered transition strip. the top layer does seem to be real wood but its thin so I wonder how it will hold up over time, especially since this will be used in a fairly heavy traffic area and transition strips tend to get some abuse. I'm sure its just easier to manufacture this in layers since it is an abnormal cut transition strip, perhaps cutting the multiple angles in this thin strip with hardwood alone would be too brittle so they added the layers with resin for strength. Time will tell (maybe bite the bullet now and buy an extra one now and keep in the closet because I'm sure my floor will outlast this strip and who knows if I'll be able to find a match in a few years).
