CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love Home Legend Mission Pine I ordered 51 cases and about 4 of them had some minor damage. I saved the damaged pieces to use on my stairs or at places I knew the damaged part would be cut off. There were no instructions included with the flooring. Had to go online to get instructions. I found that when installing, I really had to hammer on the metal flooring pull device to get the pieces to lock together. Because of that, I found it best to use some scrap pieces as a block (locking that scrap piece into the piece I'm trying to put into place). I felt using the block that comes with the pull set would damage the floor. Also, because I wanted to replace my base trim as well, I removed it and the drywall did not go all the way down to the subfloor. Because of this, I could not use the plastic spacers, because they would just slide under the drywall. Accordingly, I would put my piece in next to the wall - leaving the appropriate ¼" space - and then I hammed in nails next to the flooring (not in the flooring) at the proper distance from the wall. The nails then act as spacers. Once I'm ready to install the trim, I will just pull out the nails. Also, on my stairs, because the front of the nose trim did not cover all of the front of the existing tread, I bought some corner trim, painted it, and nailed it under the nose trim. Also, because I knew I would probably need to use quarter round to hide the cut where the tread and riser meet, and I did not want to buy the expensive quarter round that matches the flooring, I decided to just buy a sheet of bead board (4' x 8' sheet was only $25 at Home Depot) to cover the risers. If the risers had been a nice wood, I probably would have just painted them, but they were the chip board, like the rest of my subfloor. On the step that leads to our sunken living room, because the top step did not extend out over the tread, I just used some left over 2" x 2" slate tiles and then the bead board. Also for the nose trim, I took the extra pieces I had from my stairwell and cut them at a beveled 45 degree angle and glued them together. I was afraid it would look bad, but turned out pretty good. I then put in some wood putty at those joints to hopefully keep the laminate from cracking or peeling off. If I can get pictures attached, you will see samples of what I've done, as well as notice, it is still a work in progress. If I get the pictures uploaded, you will see that next to tile that is under our wood stove, I am going to trim it up by using a corner trim piece and quarter round, probably painted trey to match the grout. I love my new floors. Also, I am a 53 year old female and doing this all on my own. So pretty much anyone can install this. January 4, 2014
