I had new carpeting installed to replace the horrible builders grade that was showing it's age after only 8 years.
I put carpet in the downstairs living room and formal dining room and this bamboo installed in the kitchen and breakfast room. It looks FABULOUS!!!
For the previous poster who has creaking issues, this is your SUB FLOOR not your new bamboo flooring. It was more than likely creaking with carpet, but the padding and the carpeting covered up the worst of the sounds.
Like any dark floor, be prepared for it to show dirt/dust. I will say though, this floor contrast's beautifully with my white cabinets and black appliances.

I chose this flooring to use on an accent wall in my office. Ran it vertically, staggered the butt seams, and I get many compliments on how it looks.
I was hoping that the bamboo grain would show just a bit more, and you can see it when you're close to it, but from several feet away it looks almost solid black. Still looks nice though.
Easy to install, pieces were consistent quality overall.

I have had these floors now for 2 months and I must say I absolutely love them! Everyone that steps into my house love them. However, I must say although I did read the reviews and see that it was a lot of maintenance to keep them up I didn't believe it would be this hard. The floors do easily scuff, scratch and pick up a lot of dust. So they do look great but they are a lot of maintenance.

The install was very easy and it looks great. The dark color shows a lot of dust. My main complaint is how noisy it is. Every time I walk to the bathroom it creaks and creaks. I just say to myself " I hate this floor, I hate this floor " I'm thinking about taking it up after 2 months. I was hoping the creaks would decrease after time. Not the case yet. I might to glue it down as a last effort.

I put this floor in 3 months ago in two bedrooms. Looks great. Downside is it scratches very easily and you can see it from a mile away. Very disappointed in that. Very easy to install. May want to glue down in high traffic areas. One spot in ours bows up slightly, so when you walk on it you can tell. May not be worth the price we paid. Looking at other options for our kitchen.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HDFS5462 Great contrasting floor, easy to install. Delicate finish.
The hardness rating does not apply to surface "finish". Easily scratches, not for heavy traffic areas. Beware of "bamboo creak", each and every step you take. I strongly recommend gluing this floor, rather than floating it. As for the complimenting mouldings, pre-drill them! trying to nail them with a finish nailer is nearly impossible.

I just had this floor installed today. It was over a concrete slab. It looks fabulous. I can tell it will easily show dust but I was prepared for that since the floor is so dark. I just put accent rugs at the two entrances to my home and hopefully that will help. It is much more beautiful than the builder grade carpeting. Love it!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by FamilyofFive Beautiful Flooring, but needs a lot of care
I was a little weary about purchasing this for the kitchen because of the reviews, but it was the only finish my husband and I could agree on, and I do have to say that it is beautiful and works nicely with our lighter colored cabinets and counter tops. We have had it now for a year. Though I like it enough to keep it, I will not buy this dark of a finish again.
Tips- I would not recommend this for the kitchen or with kids or pets. I have dropped a pair of scissors and a knife on the floor since we bought it and it has gouged the finish right out. I now need to repair these spots. Putting the appliances in place caused some small white scratches/scuffs. I have found that scrubbing these with a wet cloth wipes off the white scuff, however there is still a barely noticeable scratch in the finish. My daughter's toys and the trash can leave the same white scuffs- I can't imagine what it would look like with a pet running around. Mopping is a daily occurrence, as this floor shows everything. I buy a lot of wood floor cleaner.
Installation was easy with the right tools. My husband and I did it in a couple of days (we have a large kitchen). I have not really had any problems with creaking- only in one spot. HOWEVER- you cannot leave this product in the sun or heat. It will warp quickly. Don't use any bowed pieces as they don't lock in properly. There were several pieces we could not use because they were in the sun and bowed. Now that it is installed, warping has not been an issue. We have a large sliding door in the kitchen which lets in a lot of sunlight and heat, and the floor is fine.
I hope this helps you make your decision!
