Answer:
Spills must be cleaned as they occur. Do not allow water to stand on the floor as it will become damaged. However, drips and spills from the sink, dishwasher, pets, etc. cleaned as they occur will not cause damage.

Answer:
It wipes up spills very easily. However, as with any wood flooring I would not recommend leaving a puddle for a long period of time as it will eventually seep between seams and the moisture will get into the boards. I have it installed throughout the entire main floor of our home, kitchen included.

Answer:
All of our floors are pre-sealed, so the surface will have spill protection. Also, our click-lock floors will have what is known as Seal-Loc technology; as the flooring planks are beiung put together, a water-repellent wax will seal the seams, protecting them from moisture, as well.

I also have a dog (lab) and this product is quite durable. There have been no scratches from the dog. I installed this flooring in my kitchen and is taking the abuse of heavy foot tracking and animal wear.

This flooring has a strength rating of 5 out of 5, and a Janka hardness rating of 3000 our of 3600, displaying the durability and indentation resistance of the bamboo. With good preventative maintenance (such as trimming and filing the dog's nails to round/oval points), the flooring will hold up splendidly.

I got a sample from my local store of what seems to be the same thing but mine is solid stranded bamboo all the way through (and click lock) This description seems to state otherwise: "Construction: High Density Fiberboard (HDF) Bamboo Flooring" OR is that what stranded bamboo is considered to be- a HDF product? Thanks, ~Brittany~

Answer:
It is not solid bamboo all the way through. The product is a thin layer of stranded bamboo over HDF. However, the floor is quite durable and carries a 55 year residential warranty.

This is the basically engineered bamboo as there is engineered wood. There is a layer of the strand woven bamboo over the HDF as in any engineered click/lock flooring. I will tell you though that I did a moisture test on the samples of solid strand and this engineered by clicking several together and allowing a small puddle to pool for approximately 30 minutes. With the solid, the water seeped right though and started moistening the bamboo. With the engineered the seams were much tighter and there was no seeping. However you wouldn't want to allow any liquid to sit for a long period of time on ANY flooring like this as it will eventually make it's way through. I opted for the engineered (this flooring) and so far am quite happy. Read Less

Answer:
If you float the floor, you'll just need underlayment. You can also glue it down. It is not made for nailing down.

Answer:
This flooring can be nailed, glued, or "floated." If you have a subfloor, nail it. If you have a slab, you can glue or float the floor. No matter what installation type you choose, you will need an underlayment. Typically, the more expensive the underlayment, the quieter the floor will be.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Flooring with Easy Install for Great Price This flooring is beautiful and was very easy to install. I installed about 500 square feet of it (with some help on the difficult cuts) in 1 day after never doing it before in my life. It has a pretty consistent look (not alot of variation) which is what we wanted so it wouldn't distract from the rest of the homes wood and decor. The shipment came quickly and I haven't had to toss any boards because of damage. I haven't finished laying it in the rest of the house, and have not had it in long enough to comment on the scratching. I would recommend pads for all your furniture legs, and as with any darker flooring it will show dirt and dust easily so be prepared to clean/dust on a regular basis. The color has a bit more of a reddish tone and sometimes even a purple undertone to it as opposed to the photos online. You can see this in the photos in contrast to the walnut cabinetry. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hard flooring, easy to scratch I've had this flooring in my house for about a year now. It retains its initial beauty, and I have not noticed any buckling or creaking. I do however, agree with some of the other reviews here that this flooring is EXTREMELY easy to scratch. Dogs (I have three) are fine on it, but if you don't have felt pads on your furniture feet and/or accidentally scrape something across it, it will scratch. I have found the best way to fix those are either with a stain matched wax pencil (you can find these at Home Depot in the paint department) or just some stain itself. Once you apply either, the scratch is 'gone' to the naked eye. September 26, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice wood! Buy 10% Extra Square Feet Just installed it this weekend for around 600ft2,, looks perfect, installation was easy given that I floated it. I bought 30 boxes and 3 boxes full were either damaged or just badly colored, which was around 10% of the planks. Had to reorder more. Still, they look great. I will try to give an update later. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product I just finished installing this product in my dining room. I will do the living room next. There were a few boards that I had to discard in the 11 boxes that I ordered because the boards lacked stain in spots and were unusable. Overall, my scrap rate was just under 6 percent in a perfectly square room. The boards will warp when you acclimatize them, but they are still usable and will be straight after installation. Also, I modified the installation and installed the not recommended "H" pattern repeating through the room. I think it looks better than the random pattern and I am pleased with my choice and the results. A couple of recommendations: 1. I opted for the TrafficMaster underlay rather than the slightly higher priced product with styrofoam pellets. It would have been a mess! 2. Initially, I bought a cheap 10 inch plywood blade for my miter saw. It was a mistake. After two cuts the blade was toast. Make sure that you use a carbide tipped blade. 3. Get a dust mask and make your cuts outside. The fine dust goes everywhere. 4. Make sure that you lay out your boards so that you end up with a half board or more on your ending wall, especially if there is a doorway. I trimmed my first row board width so that I had 75 % of the width on my final row. April 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this floor Very easy to install and the color is great (it has more of a reddish tint than the online picture) . This product is durable (we have a 17 month old and a large dog) and takes abuse without scratching. Use pieces from multiple boxes during the install as there are color variations among the boxes. I recommend taking a sample piece to ensure it will work in your home. March 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install and quality material. This wood was extremely easy to install. There were only a couple of pieces out of approx 30 boxes that I ordered that were defective- meaning the manufacturers cut was slightly off preventing the boards from locking perfectly. The wood is very durable and has resisted scratches with no problem. February 19, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Appearance vs Quality This product easy to insall, looks good, but the quality is extremely poor. Not durable, extremely easy to scratch. After couple of months when you walk on it, you hear crackling and squeeking. Would not recommend if you are looking for quality product. May 19, 2013
