The product I ordered in February 2013 was a click-lock and able to be floated. It was very easy to install and looks awesome. There is a little noise when walking on it in places but I am not sure if that is the locking mechanism or if a standard nail down would sound the same.

FYI - I ordered more of the same part number in August 2013 to tie in to the previous order and it is not a click-lock, it is a true tongue and groove. The two floors are not compatible! Beware! I called Home Legend and they said they discontinued the click-lock but there is no mention of this on the Home Depot Page. Read Less

Answer:
Strand woven bamboo comes in both a floating floor or T&G nail down flooring. We opted for the T&G flooring since the reviews of the floating floor were not that favorable.

Answer:
Hi Esteban, unfortunately this is only a glue down flooring product. You can not nail or float this floor. If you're going to install on concrete, make sure you do a moisture test first. If the test results are okay, then proceed with the installation and follow the manufactures instruction.

Answer:
I was informed that the bamboo is grown and manufactured in China. I'm not sure of the age of the bamboo. As I am hesitant to buy anything from China, the Green Guard certification made me feel a little better. You will find that most bamboo products are from China.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Waited a year to write review-not sure y there negative reviews regarding the durability? I took hammers and knifes to the number of samples I had mailed and picked up from home depot. The engineered Bamboo Walnut was the best. Unless you take the tip of the knife and scrape directly to the floor it doesn't scratch. Read another review said it was cheap and looked faked? The planks are solid and very heavy. When you get your sample I recommend CHECK THE PROFILE! MAKE SURE YOU DONT PURCHASE THE VANEER! You want to look for a solid piece that is slightly blended in color. Thats the flooring you want to buy. We have two Rodesian Ridgebacks 80-100lb dogs. Zero scratches on are floor. If your concerned about dogs these are the floors to own. We were concerned about the wear from them-which is y we only covered the master bedroom before we decided on the living/dining room. We are finishing these rooms this month will re-post another review after another year. Only problem with floor is you cannot steam mop and light colored hair(from the dogs) shows. Easily sweeps up. Floor will creek and pop until it settles in was about 4-6 months. January 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product horrible Delivery service!! This product is very durable compared to hand scraped version of the bamboo. Worth the extra money!! I tested both items and found a noticeable difference when i dropped a coin from 2 ft on the samples. I am glad i took the time to do this the hand scraped version dented sooo easily. The floor goes together great with no complaints. The only complaint i have is shipping Reddaway shipping is the worst experience i have ever had!! THEY MAKE APPOINTMENTS AND SHOW UP ANOTHER DAY AND BLAME YOU FOR NOT BEING THERE. I can understand a mix up but 3 times really?? Home Depot I hope you read this review and dump that company or at least the Fontana hub location. November 14, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product; smaller boards I'm so happy we didn't listen to some of the reviews on here in regards to the scratching. We installed this beautiful floor in a matter of hours. It was a first time installing hard wood -- the laminate floor boards we normally use are a lot larger so we were a little surprised when the boxes arrived. But they were still easy to install. We have three year old twins, cats and dogs. Needless to say, the kids can certainly be less than gentle with their toys on the floor and there have been no scratches. I tried to scratch a spare piece and eventually did, but it was a challenge! Love this floor and it looks so beautiful. June 11, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great Looking But Can't Stand the Creaking! We installed this floor over a long weekend in our master bedroom and although it looks fantastic, it creaks like crazy. We've installed floating floors in our current house and in other houses, so we know what we're doing, our subfloor is level (we installed this over the existing hardwood floor), and we used the underlayment recommended by Home Depot, but every step we take (or our dogs take) on the floor causes it to *creeeeak"! Not good! I think it must be the design--there seems to be a little give downward in the click-and-lock design that Home Legend uses. Needless to say, we're very disappointed. September 15, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by worst purchase ever- not first time or first dozen time purchasing wood floors Bamboo has a hardness rating equal to none, its super hard stuff. had to use a special equipment to nail it down because of it. Finished product is BEAUTIFUL! But dont be fooled with this.... the surface coat is TRASH. Literally my vacuum can scratch it if theres a piece of sand anywhere on the floor. It leaves a bright white scratch on the walnut finish. This can be touched up and buffed over... but its obnoxious. Im type A. Im touching stuff up every week- NO JOKE (not OCD just super obvious). Again I love the look, its stunning. But the scratches have me scared to let the kids use their toys here (2K sq feet of hardwood on main floor). For the cost it should be more durable. Ive purchased a LOT of rugs to help out.... hope it works. November 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT install this in your home This floor has been a nightmare. We are in the process of removing over half of it and putting tile down. It shows every single footprint, water mark and speck of dust. I literally get on my hands and knees everyday and hand mop it. It is extremely tough but the aluminum oxide finish is unforgiving. It does scratch very easily too. Expensive mistake but I have a wonderful, understanding husband...haha. I really wish someone would have warned us about this. August 23, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Flooring scratches very easily. This flooring installs very easy, but it also scratches very easily. Within a day of installation there were numerous large scratches in the finish. The undercoating appears to be a light color (white or grey) to the sctraches really show through the finish. We are very dissatisfied with this product. We are working through the claim process with Home Depot so there is not a resolution to this problem at this time. December 17, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not As Bad as Some Reviews Love the product. There does seem to be a sizable manufacturing problem. I ordered 3 cases and was only able to use 2 and 1/2 as roughly the equivalent of 1/2 of a case came out of the box unusable. This half had substantial scratches and dings. At $100 a case, there should be no defects. Surface color is also VERY SHALLOW, so even a scratch 1/32" has a chance of defacing the product. March 20, 2012
