How slick is the surface? We worry about super-smooth surfaces.

We have a sample of another bamboo plank from Home Depot. There are very faint ridges running with the grain. Is this product similar?
Asked by: denizen
This product has a smooth surface and is not textured.

Is this carbonized?

Asked by: MAMM
Carbonized is the term used to describe how the bamboo obtains its "toast" color. By a process of heating the bamboo, similar to when when sugars are caramelized, the bamboo develops a more intense color.

Can this be installed on a concrete floor?

I'm ripping out old carpeting and have a poured slab floor.
Asked by: FrouFrou1
This product can be installed on grade and above grade. When installing over a concrete slab a moisture barrier is required. This can be an attribute of the adhesive or of a sealer that is compatible with your adhesive. Check with adhesive manufacture for details of compatible products and/or moisture blocking properties. Customer Reviews

Vertical Toast 5/8 in. Thick x 3-3/4 in. Wide x 37-3/4 in. Length Solid Bamboo Flooring (23.59 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Product I am an experienced carpenter with all of the tools of the trade, which means my experience may not be the same as a homeowner taking on a big project without tools or experience. The bamboo veneer is relatively thick and hard wearing. The finish is consistent and durable. The veneer is backed by what I would call a medium/high density fiber board and the click joint profile is milled into this backing. This material is really to soft and fragile for a complex milled profile but it works if you are careful. The fiberboard backing is very dusty when cut, and I would recommend a good respirator and dust management when cutting it because it is made in China, and who knows what is in the bonding agents in the material. The boards are warped in length and breadth. This is purposeful as it creates the tension in the snap joint locking the board together. They will flatten out when installed. The instructions provided are adequate. Tools needed: 12" miter saw table saw jig saw tape measure square pencil brains rubber mallet caulk gun for the trim
