We plan on installing hardwood flooring throughout an entire, soon to be built, 2800 sq. ft. home. After over a year of research, my husband and I were pretty set on another brand of brushed oak flooring….until I happened to read the good reviews on this flooring. It’s a lot cheaper than the other brand so I figured I’d give it a shot. I wanted to get an exact idea of the look and quality of it, so I bought an entire box instead of a sample. It arrived quickly. This is the truth…I said “Wow” out loud, as I slid each piece out of the box. I fell in love with it immediately and so did my husband. It's a little darker than what we had wanted but the color is stunning regardless. Looks more like a patina color rather than a stain. Hard to explain that but that is the look it has. Every piece fit together perfectly. No bows, bends, chips or misaligned or missing tongues. We did not find one piece that couldn’t be used. No waste in the entire box. Other than a few very small pieces about 14”, a few with odd graining and a few with very thin black brush marks, all the wood was perfect. It is rustic so you have to like that look! The soft grain has been brushed out so it has a 3 dimensional look. There is also a nice color contrast between the smooth and brushed out areas. The brushed out areas are very dark. It’s the first pre-finished flooring I’ve seen with that look. It’s common with on site finished floors. I’m still puzzled with how the manufacturer achieved the look. I laid out an area about 6’ by 8’ at the main entrance of our present home and left it untouched for about 6 weeks. As a good test, I purposely made sure that no one wiped their feet before entering, no one dried it if it got wet, no one swept it and no one cleaned off dirt etc. (Ok….I did clean up cat barf once) We had 3 bad storms in that month and I also allowed one of our dogs to shake on it after her bath. The dogs food and water bowls were a foot away from it. After 6 weeks, other than a mild dullness, it looked like the day I put it down. I saw no signs of scratching, spotting or smudging. After sweeping it, I wiped it down by hand with a dampened cotton cloth. The cloth was filthy. Filthy!.....yet the floor had showed nothing for over 6 weeks. It hid everything. I guess it’s a matter of opinion as to whether that’s a good thing. The mild dullness disappeared after I wiped it down, so it was the filth and grime that made it dull, not finish loss. I can’t attest for its stability or how well it will hold up long term, but I think I gave it a pretty good test. I am so hoping it will still be available when the house is finished. We’ll be heartbroken if it's not.

We had home depot install this prefinished, oak toast flooring. In the store display, this item looked brownish (close to walnut color). Once item was delivered and installed the color of the wood is more like mahogany red and we hate it. Now we have to spend additional money to have a contractor sand, stain and refinish the floor. We are so disappointed! Also, home depot sent their guy who did the measurements , and according to that they ordered the flooring materials. At the end of installation we had at least 3 cases of wood in excess and home depot refused to take back and credit us for the excess materials. This means that the customer is liable for home depot's errors. If you are planning to do flooring with home depot, watch out!

I was looking for something that would fit in with the original woodwork that remained, and the renovations that I was making, on my 1930's Craftsman style house. This was a perfect choice in color, finish and style. Install was as expected, with typical 90 yr old home uneven floors and no square corners kind of issues, but still went quickly and without any product related problems. Out of 10 boxes of flooring only had 3 boards that had to be scrapped. I've already had another 14 boxes delivered to use in the master bedroom. Now I'm hoping other reviewers are right and the finish will hold up to my dog!!

I picked this flooring because it goes perfectly with our existing trim and moldings. Our home is 111 years old and this floor looks like it's always been there. Of course, I first ordered a full box and brought it home -- every piece was prime. Home Depot's pictures don't do this flooring justice. The oak toast coloring is very warm - not too dark. It does not make the room feel smaller and it doesn't have a reddish hue like so many mid-dark stains. It cleans easily with a broom, dust mop or vacuum. It does not dent or scratch easily. I believe that is the advantage to white oak as opposed to red oak and it's solid oak--not engineered. We have solid red oak in the kitchen for comparison. I'm surprised to not see our small dogs sliding across the floors while playing. The installers loved it too. There was very little waste in installing it.

We just installed this flooring everywhere except the bedrooms. I love the wire brush finish and the variations in color and texture. It's a stunning floor that changes with the light that comes in through the windows. It is indeed a somewhat dark floor with golden undertones. I wanted something that looked like it had been in my very traditional home forever but I didn't want a worn and weathered old look. This wire brushed flooring exceeded my expectations. It's ¾" thick and the planks feel substantial in the hand. I also wanted to steer clear of a wide beveled edge that would collect dust and dirt and although this flooring has a beveled edge, it is slight. I also wanted my new flooring to have minimal sheen and that's exactly what I got with this floor.
We thought the shorter length of the random boards - 36" would not be to our liking but actually we like it much better for our needs. We have a very large and lengthy area and worried that long boards would give a "runway" affect. Having the shorter lengths breaks that area up and the effect is nothing short of stunning.
We are so pleased and highly recommend this flooring. It was a win win remodel!

This most recent purchase was our third. We originally installed the product in our formal living room, dining room, family room and main hallway. Second purchase was for the master bedroom and recently two additional bedrooms. I am not going to calculate the square footage, but suffice to say that we installed several full pallets of material.
Most literature regarding hardwood flooring will advise that you should allow for spoilage in your calculation of the required product to cover your project. With this product, there is NO NEED for a spoilage allowance. We may have tossed two or three pieces out of the thousand plus that we handled, and those had just a minor warp. No cracked or split pieces. No twisted pieces. No imperfections in the finish. I would attribute the quality to the WHITE OAK species that is EXTREMELY HARD. And, keep in mind that this is product is 3/4 inch thick.
Many oak stain tones are too golden, too yellow, too red. This product delivers on its name: "oak toast". Our color preference is what actually made this product a finalist for our original purchase. Each piece has it own character including grain, the amount of wire brush effect and a range of warm "toasty" color. Once laid, you have a floor with great eye appeal.
The finish has held up 100% in the areas that have been installed for two plus years. We have a two dogs whose claws are not routinely trimmed and in the family room we have not seen any scratching or marring.
Bottom line- if this color is to your liking and the wire brush finish fits your style, then buy this product with 100% confidence.
