Customer Questions & Answers

Are the quarter rounds absolutely necessary for this product?

What is the purpose of the quarter rounds? I plan to have this flooring installed over concrete foundation, floating, and will cover the edges with baseboard.
Asked by: Herb
You can buy pine or composite 1/4 round and paint it the same color as the baseboard. Much, much cheaper, you can buy it in much longer lengths so less cutting fewer joints, and you will never notice the difference in the way it looks.

do I need to take it out of the box and acclamate it to the room for a while? How long?

Asked by: jamie
No as it is engineered flooring. But if you want to "be safe" probably just a few days.

The only downside is a low dent rating isn't the same as kids dragging furniture around. Shows wear and tear much more than the scraped dark hickory we have in most of the house. Looks a bit darker in the rooms due to the grain which we like. The brushing helps it to feel warm even in the winter--albeit we are in Texas--but also feels a bit like there is dust under bare feet. Definitely wouldn't recommend in more high traffic areas, better to have scraped/distressed for those. All said we like this enough that we are going to put the grey one in the master for our last decarpeting.

The boards have many tones in them, from beige to gray. What I love most about this flooring is the entire color palette is light so even with the different hues, the overall look is fairly monochromatic. No dramatic color differences like acacia. We installed 400 + square feet and had hardly any bad boards or waste. Easy to install! No complaints!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far looks fantastic I read the reviews on here and took a chance on a few good ones and was very pleased with the outcome. I didn't have a huge budget with flooring so I found the color and texture I liked the best in the store and pined over it for a while. I don't usually leave reviews but hoped mine would help someone with a budget. I'm not sure what "real" wood flooring differs from this, as some reviews called this laminate. IT looks like wood, feels like wood and even smells like wood. A thicker wood flooring like this would cost 5.99 a panel ad opposed to 1.99. We have done one room and it looks fantastic. NO damaged peices. A bit of a creeky sound with good sub-flooring, but less after we ripped out the flooring from before and put this in. The click lock was a charm, boards cut nice and the final product looks beautiful! It gives the look of a slightly rustic hardwood for a price that won't murder you. The wood is durable and has great texture. Best part is, its wired brush texture can hide from animal scratch imperfections. If you are looking for a budget hard wood, don't be afraid! It looks amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mid install review Easy to install. Great price. Varying grain, length and shade give visual interest. Short edges do not click but do interlock. All edges are sealed with wax for moisture protection. A few tips: some pieces have uneven staining or splotches, but you cut the bad part off and use the rest of it at the beginning or end of a row. Use other pieces you dont like under appliances and in closets and you won't have much waste. Pull pieces from several boxes as you lay it to achieve a more even and random appearance. Lay pieces out and plan ahead to avoid joints lining up with previous row.
