I recently purchased three of these stools for my kitchen. Assembly was relatively easy, about 30 min per stool. However, the poor quality wood screws supplied to fasten the leg spreaders stripped out way too easily during assembly. (Would it have killed their profit margin to spend a few more cents on higher quality wood screws?) I would recommend using your own wood screws to fasten the leg spreaders and not the metallurgically inferior ones included in the box. And be prepared to dispose of a lot of styrofoam packaging material when you're done.
The stools are very attractive, but on close inspection, you will notice minor defects in the black finish. These were easily touched up with a black Sharpie marker. The rubber feet are great on hardwood floors and do not leave marks.
After about 10 days of use, I sat on one of the stools and heard a crack - one of the rear legs had cracked where the back meets the seat. Took it back to the store and received a full refund. I'm hoping that was an isolated incident and ordered another one as a replacement.
Despite their shortcomings, my family and I are happy with these stools. They are comfortable and look great in our kitchen, let's just hope they last.
