I don't like the look of the casters. Can we just not install them and let the island sit on floor without them?

Answer:
Yes, the casters can be omitted in the assembly process. Please note the product will be nearly 3 inches shorter without the casters.

Answer:
Hello Christina,
If the casters are removed the height of the cabinet will be greatly decreased. Working at the cart with the cart lowered will likely prove uncomfortable. I would recommend instead constructing a small base to keep the cart at a similar height. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

Create-a-Cart in Cottage Oak with Salt and Pepper Granite Top is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap materials, broken panels, warped and misalignment The materials at the top of the box opening were broken, two back panels and the inside middle weight loading panel. The far right front door is warped. The two upper drawers were misaligned. My husband is very handy. He had to rebuild the drawers which split as the screw holes were too close to the sides. Also one of the drawers did not allow sufficient room to slide in the bottom panel. He was able to fix this but he has a workshop with plenty of tools. With both of us working on this - he works and I fetch - it took over 3 hours. The icing on the cake -- the top drawers overlap the stainless steal top!! Back to the workshop!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The granite top is nice, the rest is fair to poor By the time I figured out that what I received is not quite what I ordered, I had already destroyed most of the packaging materials getting it unpacked. The back panels and the drawer bottoms are cheap and too thin for real use. Some of the screw holes are misaligned. One of the drawers bumps into the top when I try to close it. One of the cabinet doors has to be closed carefully to ensure is stays closed while another one is difficult to open. During assembly, some of the parts have glue pegs already inserted. The holes that the glue pegs go into are over-sized so they don't hold the parts effectively in place while attempting to assemble the next part.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this cart!!! After reading all the reviews, I decided to hire a furniture assembler to put it together. It cost me $50 but was worth every penny. He had it together in less than an hour. The fact that it is on wheels really helps since I still haven't purchased the gel mats for the kitchen and have only one that I keep near the sink. I just roll the cart over near the sink when I want to use it. My only complaint would be that I was hoping the drawers would be a little bigger to hold my cooking utensils. However, my big soup pot and large corn pot fit in the top of the middle cabinets which is a plus. I can't wait for a holiday and pie baking as it will provide a nice clear surface to roll my dough.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Check it out before unpacking The first cabinet I received the the granite top was broken. Customer service was very good about replacing the cabinet but the whole cabinet had to be replaced and not just the top. That meant repackaging the whole cabinet. I would suggest opening and inspecting the top before opening the wooden cabinet. Wood screw strip out easily so be careful when tightening. One of the cap screw nuts wasn't threaded and had to be replaced. All the screw holes lined up properly. Cabinet rolls easily given the weight and looks good after it is assembled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good purchase The small items needed to assemble were in shrink wrap and easy to account for. All of the holes lined up. It took about 4 hours and except for the granite top I didn't require help. There was a disconnect in the instructions putting on the granite top but it wasn't too hard to figure out. One tool required. I loved it and love the look. It is beautiful (just like the picture). It was cheaper elsewhere but the wood was too light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice, solid product My wife loves this kitchen cart. It is well-designed and solid. Very handy in the kitchen, basically a rolling countertop she can use whenever she wants to grind custom hamburger, prep steaks for the grill or mix batter for a cake. Also provides some extra storage space for her kitchen appliances. For the money we think this was a great deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality, easy assembly This product met all expectations. It was well packaged and came with good instructions for relatively easy assembly. The materials are good quality and as assembled the cart is beautiful.
