Customer Reviews

Wood Kitchen Island in White Finish with 2 Stool is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad, Not great I actually enjoy putting furniture together, but this one proved somewhat annoying. Three of the main components arrived broken. When you call in for replacements, you need to have an inventory of everything that's missing or broken. Thus you end up with a room full of parts while you wait for the replacements to ship. We had an unusable kitchen for 3 weeks while we waited. (I will say that Home Depot's customer service was pleasant to deal with.) Once all the parts were finally in, the assembly was not too bad. However, the instructions left a bit to be desired. One major gripe relates to the cam-lock system: The lock inserts are too soft and bend out of shape easily. The posts that lock into the cams can be screwed in way too far. You will need to bear this in mind when fastening. I had to go back and loosen every cam post such that it would fit into the locking piece. Everything else was pretty straight forward with the table assembly. The stools also had some issues with assembly. The pre-drilled holes for connecting the back rests to the seats were not well matched. This made it very difficult to bolt the components together. One even cracked from the awkward strain of the fit as I tightened it. Once put together, it's a handsome unit. I feel it's a bit pricey for what it is, but there is not much else to choose from out there with kitchen islands. I also think most people would be happier buying this island without the stools. We've found them to be too big to comfortably sit two people side-by-side due to the extensions that pull out on each side of the unit.
