Rated 1 out of 5 by Too good to be true The mid-range price persuaded me to give this sprayer (HomeRight Titanium Series Medium Duty Airless Paint Sprayer C800916.M) a try, despite some reviews complaining of splattering of paint. I had hoped to paint an inside door without leaving brush marks. After reading the manual carefully and diluting the Behr latex paint with Floetrol per the instructions, I tried the gun and immediately was faced with consistent and serious splattering of paint across a test surface. After cleaning the gun and diluting the paint still further, the result was the same on the second test. At this point, the paint was diluted way, way beyond the gun manufacturer's recommendation of 8-10 percent; perhaps as much as 25-30 percent. All this had taken several hours of patient attention to cleaning and careful re-reading of the manual. It began to look like I would have to spend more money to dilute my paint with Floetrol than I had spent on the paint itself. That was the end for me. When tested initially with plain water, the spray gun seemed very promising, but paint isn't water and I suspect that this mid-priced tool will only satisfy users who are spraying stain or are painting things like stucco or other rough surfaces, where splatters might not matter so much. It will not/not spray latex interior paint diluted to anything like the manufacturer's recommendations. And you don't want to be left to experiment all day to find the "right" consistency, stopping each time to clean the gun before you try again. It may be that no one can really manufacture an airless sprayer for under $100 that will give good results. Certainly this one didn't. If you can afford to buy a more expensive tool, that may be the solution, but if you only have a limited need for a tool like this, renting may be the better way to go. HomeRight really needs to re-work its manual to reflect the reality of using retail paint products. If the paint needs to be diluted massively, down to the consistency of stain, that should be made clear. October 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by As good as any other This sprayer works just as well as any other. I had a Wagner 8 years ago that would spit big drops of paint when paint was about 2/3 low or was tipped a little too far. Not good unless you are able to constantly keep an eye on the paint level. This Titanium Series Medium Duty does the exact same thing AND it is VERY NOISY but at least include ear protectors with the sprayer. The included cleaning kit and oil are handy and it is fairly easy to clean. I have it now and will continue to use it. I have a stucco house to paint this fall and hope it works well with the included extention tube for 5 gal. buckets. Will write another review after that use. June 21, 2013
